That was a muscle spasm brought on by an overspiced curry... and I LIKE curry... just not overly spicy curry. In fact, I'm not too keen on over spiced anything. :) I don't mind a little heat, but when all there is IS heat, then the ol' tastebuds get fried and you can't taste any of the subtle flavours which seems a bit of a waste of culinary expertise. I want to taste the flavours, not blister my oral cavity.
 
That's the dilemma here in New Mexico. They get so proud of the ubiquitous green chile, that it too often becomes a heat contest. I like green chile, but not all the time, and not so hot it covers the subtle medley of flavors in New Mexican food.
