I have to admit, I've never heard a rice joke before.

It's odd, but a lot of people like converted rice because it is light, with separated grains. To my palate, it is too light, and the airiness seems to have the same quality as diluted drinks or soup, just unappealing. It's like Ramen vs. uncooked pasta.

I often eat at restaurants, and even nicer ones are prone to use converted rice, and it is immediately noticeable.

It's a matter of taste though, and I don't begrudge those who favor it.

That is a bakers rack, on the top shelf we have a stash of snack foods, no rice though, the rice is kept in the pantry in the kitchen
