Where is the hijack emoticon?

I'm in the midst of an unauthorized JUB Meetup. Drove to Colorado Thursday to visit Yooper and his partner and enjoy a bit of R&R. I stopped on the way through Denver and had lunch with Lex at a Korean BBQ joint. He's doing well and it was really good to visit. We've met about three times before.

Yesterday, Yooper and I ate lunch at a great local Creole restaurant set up in a Victorian home on the main drag. Then we took a driving tour up in the mountains to see some of his old homeplaces. Had a great time. Forgive the cell phone pic quality, especially the blurred shot of Yooper (posted with permission), but you get the idea anywho.

See? We WERE having a good time.

I had jambalaya. It was both a different preparation and presentation than I had seen before, but was delicious.

The road cut on Hwy 70 is stunning. There is much more color variation than my pic reveals.

The parks department doesn't seem to use English very well. Either that, or people are expected to have looooong arms.

He is indeed a dashing man of good looks, charm, and hospitality. I made such a lengthy post, I probably lost you, but I did say there that it was Yooper.

Lex has his charms too, but I didn't take any pic and he has left off posting on this forum of late anyway.

Looks like Dinosaur Ridge!! Thank you Yooper, you showed me that place. It's entirely amazing and, for paleontologists, it's probably considered one of the best "time capsules" out there.

I'm glad t to see you got to meet some good people in Colorado.

Yup, THAT's the name! I couldn't come up with it when we were there for some reason.

I guess that is one of my 'regular' spots to show people when they visit, it is just such an easy thing to do and pretty interesting, besides being 'budget friendly'

We've got one more day, and still haven't figured out what to do tomorrow. I have to go in to work for a short shift but will have most of the afternoon to do something interesting. We did the amazing cheese store today before an evening on the town (and by town I mean Denver) and just got home.
