I've been watching Blitzer and Cooper. Just learned the SEALs came back with whole piles of computer stuff full of data.

People are talking about how Al Qaeda people will strike in revenge. What do you think the chances are there's enough information in there to let the good guys strike first?

Alot.

Hillary said to day that the battle continues. I think she meant it litteraly.

I really don't think there is going to be a big change in terms of U.S policy, Iraq or Afghanistan. I do hope though that the heighten security is nothing more than talk, and that no revenge strike happens.

I think one of the main concerns are sleeper cells that may be automatically activated by his death. Personally, I worry for the Olympics next year. It's a perfect opportunity to hit multiple nations at the same time.

In addition, Al-Qaeda - like the Islamic religion - isn't organised. Whilst AQ may have had OBL as it's figurehead, many smaller bombings were carried out independently 'in the name of AQ'. The first that OBL knew of them was from news reports - like we did.

Right now the most immediate threat will be by these lone operators that simply want to revenge his death. As was mentioned on an interview here earlier "An animal is often more dangerous when it's wounded." And right now Al-Qaeda is hurting...

As for policy, taking out OBL was just one objective. Whoever takes over from OBL will want to prove themselves to be the 'best man for the job', so really, we're back to square one...

The SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors online jihadist activities, said vague threats were posted on the Shumukh al-Islam forum, the exclusive outlet for official al Qaeda messages.
"America will reap the same if the news is true and false," said one posting on the website. "The lions will remain lions and will continue moving in the footsteps of Osama," said another.
Adding to the concern is a Defense Department report released last week by the WikiLeaks website that a Guantanamo detainee had knowledge of al Qaeda possibly possessing a nuclear bomb somewhere in Europe.
The detainee, Abu al-Libi, said he was told by al Qaeda associate Sharif al-Masri that he believed if bin Laden were captured or killed "the bomb would be detonated" in the United States.

Al-Libi said al-Masri told him during the summer of 2004 that the terrorist network was having difficulty moving the bomb, but if it could move it "al Qaeda would find operatives to use it."

they are bracing for a BIG retaliation apparently, and its being handled very quietly. Neapolitano just changed the alert code last week and that can't have been a coincidence.

Now they only tell you about exact threats when they learn information. The old threat level is gone. So far DHS has not released anything specific, just travel warnings and a reminder to be observant of packages and odd behaviors of people in public.

I'd like to take this opportunity to offer each and every Nay Seal on this mission an amazing blowjob and to the Seal that fired his gun at exactly the same moment he was telling bin Laden to surrender, I would be pleased to offer him a rimjob that would make any jihadist forget about 72 virgins.

I'm just sayin'.

I think the world needs to be prepared for an onslaught of attacks. There should be no doubt in anyone's mind that Al Qaeda is going to respond. The only question now is how and on what scale.

good god

take it easy will ya?

as for their response ............ bring it on

thinking we're better prepared - having been through it

thinking we have some real resolve - every mother fucking person in this country celebrated the death of that shit

every race, creed, political affiliation - it's a galvanizer

thinking if these pieces of shit want to come out of the woodwork and avenge the head piece of shit

let them do so - and make some mistakes

and no matter what THEY do, it was the right thing to do and in my opinion makes us safer today and better today

Are you really so naive as to believe that its going to be all roses and sunshine going forward? Let's be realistic here; Al Qaeda still exists the same as they did yesterday. Only now they're pissed off.

Taking care of him was the right thing to do, and you'll get no argument from me about that. But don't sit here and say with a straight face that Al Qaeda isn't going to do everything in their power to kill innocents around the world.

roses and sunshine? nah

but i think doing what we did ......... showed how important it was ......... that we were gonna do it .......... that we said we'd get him ............. and we did

love that

let them try

i have faith in US

and my hope/belief is that he galvanized them - he's fish food now

and my hope/belief is that they will make mistakes

and that our game is stepped up

and theirs will not be

and we will hunt them down with more ferocity

and fuck them up the ass

i wonder if liberals will get all soft about finding al qaeda - or in questioning them

raises a big question IMO

i don't think for a minute ur not happy about getting him - no way

i just think ur take is that we should be scared

and i don't think so

Jesus Chance,I knew if I hung around here for 5 fucking years, you and I would finally agree on something besides chicken.

But you lost me at ''liberals getting soft on al-Queda.'' More of your usual partisan bile in an otherwise great post..Why would you think liberals want to blow Al-Queda?

What we hate is the assault on civil liberties.Go figure,OBL was caught not in the U.S but in Pakistan. So why should we have to be treated as suspects?

Otherwise, you've come a long way Baby...You make me proud Grasshopper.

Blitzer was talking today about two different branches of Al Qaeda that have become powerful on their own and to whom Osama was a figurehead, kind of like the British royals -- a symbol with little substance.

Now just how credible are the claims of a nuke? If it's real... I can think of two different cities that would be likely picks.

No dis agreement there. He sure is..

Even his commercials where he is at a diner, babbling about how he should have two shows (he already does) seem pretty weird.

Who the fuck is he supposed to be talking to?

There's no one else at the table..If you caught this act ,by yourself, without cameras, you'd think he was nuts..

Lean Foward-and whisper to the waitress to call the cops..

no partisan bile here baby - u have me confused with someone else clearly ;)

btw - check out sugarland in williamsburg ur next trip out - hipsters, dancing and beer - is there anything better ? ;)

as for liberals and al qaeda - ur not the prototype my friend - in fact u stick out like ......... never mind

OMG promo spot for lawrence o'donnell on msnbc - yech - keith w/o personality

back to those soft liberals - too soft - worried about their "rights" - terrorist rights that is

they have the "right" to be killed quickly i think ;)

i don't think al qaeda has the right to civil liberties

they sorta gave up those rights by killing innocents

hope all is well

and i forgive u for being wrong on most things ;)

"Bring it on"?

As BP pointed out, there's intelligence that they may have a nuke.

If they do, you're in the city they'll probably aim at -- buy the ship of some Muslim captain going there anyway, sail in legitimate as all heck, aim for Lady Liberty and set it off.

Though if they do, and we can catch the plot, I'd use SEALs to intercept out at sea, put them all in handcuffs, put a pig on board, and set a remote trigger on the thing.

Or maybe stuff bacon in their mouths -- so as not to waste a good pig.

Knucklehead: Hold on now, I have to defend chance on this one. I have seen liberals argue about how it sucks that Osama died. There are those who think the death penalty is wrong, and who really think Obama sent in a police-force SWAT team to apprehend Osama and make him stand trial. There are those who are also stupid enough to think that the "War on Terror" was only about getting Osama. There is an amount of stupid, probably from a lack of meat in their diet that has led to their brains wasting away on the estrogen-rich soy that shrivels up their junk and removes their spine, that can be found on the idiocy fringe of the liberal left--- I've read it on a couple of blogs I follow and elsewhere, so they are out there.

I'm pretty adamant on my stance on this--- I'm not appreciating the historical revisionism or the backhanded "compliments" against Obama or the whining that poor Osama had to die or how the US had 9/11 coming. I have a giant "fuck you" to anyone who isn't genuinely thankful for Obama's leadership and for the bravery and ingenuity of those who planned and implemented an operation that killed this sorry bastard.

Quoted for the truth. I have even heard far left liberals say that we're no better than Osama for killing him (the Venezelan government took this stance too). Lily Allen said that Osama's killing wasn't "real" news.

Now just YOU wait a minute Mister..I 've seen these type of soy drinking, sushi eating, adopted Korean baby pushing(well,at least the Mexican Nannies they hire while Mom plunders Wall Street. pukes..( dinks..double income,no kids.)I share your disgust. They destroy every neighborhood they set foot in.They've destroyed my own native Brooklyn,Park Slope.Where were they when everyone was fucked up on heroin and crack? Upstate, thats where. Now they run us out of our own neighborhoods.Even a good looking guy like me is dismised as ''blue collar help.'' But,on a lighter note, the shithole my grandmother lived in since Roosevelt was President was sold to a web designer for over $500,000.-.God Bless them Yuppies..

Anyways, those type of liberals, the kind that don't eat meat, wont fuck their husbands, and certainly wont bear their children, and if they do,insist on giving them names like Brock...Well,they disgust me too..

It bothers me to be lumped into the same pile as these maggots..I wanna assault them..But-I can't.They own the City and have better lawyers..

Que sera sera..
