Last month my poor Ma fell down the stairs. Ever since I've been considering one of those stair lift chairs. The basic models start at about $3800, really steep for me right now. Last week my fella and i went to an estate sale and, low and behold, we found one, a perfect one, for sale. We lugged it home and spent the next two days installing it. It works like a charm and not a scratch on it. Its only two years old. Haleluja!!! Oh, and the total cost? $200!!!!!!!!!!

He said we were so lucky that we better try to continue our luck. That night we went to casino and won $1165 on a slot machine!!!

I'm still in shock over my luck that day.

I was commissioned to write a fanfare, processional and recessional for a gay couple's wedding next month. Yesterday they heard the fanfare and processional and really liked it.

The recessional is still being worked on as I didn't like what I'd been doing and started from scratch. I'm now determining orchestration and will record once that's more-or-less in place, though often during the recording process I change things up on the fly.

Also, first choir concert of the season went quite well. Two of our choir members doing a duet from Les Misérables got a standing ovation.

Will you be playing at the ceremony or tape it for them?

I will be playing live as the guests are seated, and during the registration. It's taking place on a boat in English Bay harbour. I'm really looking forward to it. These are good friends. Both sing with the choir and one is the music director for a GLTB concert band. Their good opinions of the music therefore, carries a lot of weight. :D

The fanfare, processional and recessional were and will be recorded live into my music workstation's sequencer and triggered by me for playback for the best sound quality.

The copies of the fanfare and processional they heard was recorded from my workstation onto my computer and then those music files was converted into mp3 format. They've been sent those files via e-mail, and I also have copies in a playlist on my iPhone. :)

I finally admitted to myself I am to the point of needing a mobility scooter. I found one that comes apart for travel and made to carry fat people. Regular price $3,999. The place I got mine was $2,500 on sale. Then I noticed they had an open box special (opened and put together, then taken apart and put back in the box, but never used) for the model I wanted for $2,017. Then as I was checking out I got a $30 instant rebate and a bunch of free stuff for my scooter. I also upgraded the batteries for $487.

In the end I paid $2,474 for the below package.
