Post something just for the heck of it

The problem with the youtube above is the reference to the Epoch Times that lowers the reliability of this paper by about 90%.

Just that it's John Campbell, a notorious spreader of disinformation about vaccines (Covid and others), and an ivermectin advocate, makes the entire video questionable, at best.

Dr. John Campbell is not an M.D.

John Colicos as "Baltar" together with Johnathan Harris as "Lucifer" - a match made in Heaven (or that Other Place)

I bought a new computer. A Raspberry Pi 3 B+. $90. Plus a 32 GB micro memory card. Actually, two. Because one is $20 and two is $32. Duh. Besides, a spare is handy to have. All from Amazon.

Anyway. Once the parts get here, I get to play with downloading and installing the OS. And messing with it seeing the external SSD at boot automatically. You have to edit the equivalent of system.ini or config.sys/ Then installing Slimserver. Somewhere in the process I'll copy all of my ripped CDs to the external SSD. About 140 GB.

Once it all works? What happens? I shut down the Win11 PC that is currently running Slimserver. Disconnect the Ethernet and unplug the power. Lightning does strange things. If I need to run a Windows program I have a system ready to use.

Because fuck Microsoft and the constant updates and re-booting when it fucking feels like it. Fuck Microsoft for breaking peer to peer file sharing. "Enter your password." I don't have passwords on my PCs.

I was happy enough with Win7. The PCs were pushing eight years old so I bought new PCs. Win11. Ah.... it's sort of better but it hides a lot of settings. But the constant "log in to your Microsoft account" and fuck me, the random updating of the OS without asking... plus toss on the save yer shit to the cloud and the AI garbage.

I wiped my PC. Installed Mint. It has just about everything I need. Sure, I can't run Paint Shop Pro. That's minor. No drivers for Dymo label printers. But Mint found my Lexmark printer like magic. It boots fast. I think my phone takes longer to boot. The hard part about installing Mint was getting into BIOS and telling the machine to boot from the USB stick. For real. And you can boot from the USB stick and play and explore and use it. If it works for you and when you are ready, there's an Install icon on the Desktop.

I've been messing with Windows since 2.0. It's been my video game. Y'all are Dooming around and I'm poking and tweaking Windows.

I'm done with Windows.

How's this for "Post something just for the heck of it" post?

A full bottle of my favorite whiskey, and I'm ready for Windows 12.
