Post something just for the heck of it

Post something for the heck of it.

Ok, here we go. Every time we get new PCs we just copy all of our stuff from old to new PC. Then sort it out. You do that a few times, say from Win3.11 to Win95 through XP and Win7 and Win11, shit gets cluttered. Folders within folders within folders.

It's a mess when combining stuff from three PCs into one.

I got tired of Microsoft's crap. The constant updates and rebooting. Really? I don't think Win11 is stable. It has to reboot monthly because of updates? Nah.... The spying shit. Hello? I can see that shit in my Pi-hole DNS thing.

I had a Win98 box and then an XP box and they ran for 5 or 6 years w/o a reboot. They rebooted because the UPS batteries had gone bad.

I copied the personal data stuff from dearly departed's PC to my PC. Then installed Mint on his PC. Total format of the drive. No data has been lost.

Mint has quirks. Hell yes. But really not worse than going from Win7 to Win11. It's loaded with features. It seems really fucking fast.

There are ways to put in on a USB stick and boot from that and see if you like Mint. Just saying.

My T-bird and FF profiles copied over from Win11 to Mint perfectly.... just had to edit one configuration file for each to change the profile name.

I've been combining all the stuff. See, I saved stuff on his PC and he saved stuff on m PC. Lots of clutter and duplication in nested folders.

I've cleared out almost 35 GB in the last few days. Looking? I'm guessing another 10 GB.

Crazy.
