Post something just for the heck of it

At the date of transmission of the programme (26 June 2011), ownership was still the subject of a legal dispute.[4] In October 2013, the London Evening Standard reported that Shirley Rountree (Simon Murray's mother and a descendant of Sir Henry Blake) was suing Sotheby's for "return" of the painting.[13] Sotheby's responded that ownership of the painting was still disputed and should be settled in the courts.

In November 2013, a new claimant emerged.[14] Massachusetts native Clifford Schorer said the painting was used as security for a loan he made to Selina Varney (now Rendall) and that he was now entitled to it, the Blake family having failed to make a claim in a US court.
...
In 2018 a court battle was still going over ownership of the painting.[16]

Clifford Schorer, an art dealer (specialty old masters) loaned Selina money using the Homer watercolor as security knowing the facts about the dispute. Selina who remarried now owns a pub. I hope it has weathered the storm of the current pandemic. Mr Schorer, a Board Member of the Worcester Museum in Massachusetts,, wants the Homer in his Museum. It would be a fitting place for it. He also knew he would have more power to get justice. I respect Sotheby’s for keeping the watercolor awaiting a determination that, thus far, has lasted at least 9 years. Mr Murray slandered/ libeled Sotheby’s reputation does they stand as a powerful party in the dispute.

I am a griever.
That doesn't mean I have a disease.
It means that I miss and love someone who has died.
Let me grieve at my own pace.
My reality is forever changed.
Do not judge me nor feel it is your obligation to tell me to
''move on,'' or ''get over it.''
Getting over it is not an option.
With time, I will do my best to move forward one step in front of the other.
They might be baby steps, but it is better than none at all.
When I need you ...
Just be there.

What is that thing??

(I mean, in real life.)

That is a cone ginger plant (pine cone). The "cones" are made of hundreds of fleshy petals, cupped so as to hold a clear, fragrant, sap-like juice, which has an agreeable ginger fragrance. (They also have fragrant white flowers). You can easily get it on your hands by doing what that guy did. Many years ago I had a job in Gainesville, Florida, which required me to go door to door. Many people in that area planted the pine cone ginger, and I always availed myself of the fragrant sap whenever I passed one of these plants. But for some reason they seem to be very rare in South Florida and even around Tampa, which doesn't make sense to me.
