I love the third one, because most people seem to imply bad people who want to put you down, and engage in unending quarrels about it, are the ones who can't see your worth, that is, that only "bad" people are unable to see your worth, as if "good" ones could not be as clueless and, therefore, as harming: in short, it's the well-known (but not often repeated) fact, that you can perfectly do harm without meaning it, or even by having very good intentions.
But, even most interesting than that, is the judging of the worth of someone's worth: you can be very aware, and agree, say, with Coelho, about his worth (his work's worth, not his net one)... but totally disagree about the worth of both that net (people are prone to appear more lucid about riches, about money) and, especially, of his intellectual output.

I can't find the post with the Kirk&Spock dialogue about keeping composed while dealing with idiots, but I have to say that, in truer Vulcanian logic, one's feelings and composure are irrelevant, and the true interest of dealing with idiots is not convincing them, it has nothing to do with them: it's the logic of their arguments, sham or genuine, the game of learning to what extent can irrationality be pushed and, at most, how can one strengthen one's reasoning ability, irrespective of whether that will have any influence on the idiots or the half-idiots who are aware of it all, but who would rather choose to remain silent to avoid as much trouble as possible.

I wish all those old money homes would finally get out of the Middle Ages, and I do not mean that they should build Modernist-style: it would be enough it they went more like "old Classical". They may be as big and expensive as they want, but they look more like caverns than anything, even those who would stick a white pediment and a couple of columns that seem taken out of a giant's chair. They may be old money in the USA, but their style is still new rich Turdstones: even those who are like old Dutch homes on steroids, or plain dogshed-size Palladianish British country houses.
