  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Post something just for the heck of it

Do you pay for her friendship like you pay for sex?

Only indirectly, while she was my teacher twenty-five years ago.

Actually, we became friends about four years after graduating from my first degree.

I grew weary of your intricate, esoteric interpretations of my posts and my assumed life long, long ago: and by 'you' I mean 'you all'.

Maybe if you made them clearer we wouldn’t have to interpret them

Or misinterpret.

It's a fucking picture of a fucking empty self-storage unit, what the fuck is there to "interpret" or "misinterpret" you fucking stupid Anglos :rotflmao:

Oh, wait, there seem to be three wrecked volumes down there, what could that ever mean...

... surely not that there are only those binded pages left down there.

I only wanted to keep that pic... without littering any of my cyberstorage devices.

Oh, so this whole "discussion" derived from an engimatic image you can not see.

In this case, it might be related to that third-world phaenomenon known as Judge Judy Sheindlin, who/which  was the subject/object/topic of said image.

I thought of this last night in a cannabis-induced stupor and the world needs to see it. But because I'm permanently banned from Music Banter, I have nowhere else to post it.

One day in 1991, as Nirvana's "Nevermind" was scaling the charts, former (at the time) Dinosaur Jr bass player Lou Barlow bumped into J Mascis on the street. "I was like totally high and drunk," says Barlow, "and I was like 'They fucking beat you to it! You could have done it you assshole, we could have fucking done it!"

This got me thinking about alternative outcomes. What would our world be like if Dinosaur Jr and not Nirvana had been the ones to finally rise from the sprawling independent music subculture of the 80's and make it big? Imagine "Green Mind" with Murph and Lou on board, produced by, say, Bob Ezrin. It would have killed. Better yet, Kurt Cobain would still be alive and, having never achieved success, probably wouldn't have gotten so fucked up and killed himself. Admit it: "In Utero" sucked and nobody would have had to pretend otherwise. Imagine what Cobain could have achieved, still miserable yet driven, if success hadn't neutered him creatively. He had a lot of good shit up his sleeve.

On the downside, however, it probably would have ruined Dinosaur Jr. The albums "Farm" and "Beyond" wouldn't have happened, and worse, it would have been Lou, not J, who killed himself. And I like Lou.

So it's definitely best things worked out as they did.

How's that for esoteric, Belamobear? And it's in English!

Reviewing Ridley Scott's film career, I often wonder how he would have been remembered and valued if he had died right after having finished Blade Runner.

Oh, or maybe to those third-world, AOL-style connections and image [g]hosting: I merely search for an image, copy the link and past it between the proper "img" tags.

Dis your assasination attempt fail?

He would have undeservedly been regarded as a genius.

"Thelma and Louise" is certainly no masterpiece but I can't imagine my world without it.

He remains the author of "Alien", "Blade Runner" and "The Duellists"...

^ All great films but to short an oeuvre to be considered genius.
