I had a 1992 Dodge Ram that started to use coolant. No big deal, just carry a couple of gallons of water. It's 15 miles or so to Tractor Supply and it would need half a gallon. Then it needed a gallon. Once it got to needing two gallon, put it in the shop. Yeah. That engine doesn't have head gaskets. How about $9500 plus sales tax and "shop supplies" for a rebuilt engine?
How about I take that $10,000 grand and put it toward a newer truck?
So that's what we did. I bought a 2019 Nissan Frontier with 23,000 miles. Loaded. Four doors. That's what there was available other than a Chevy Colorado for a couple grand more with 50,000 miles and a well used bed.
Yes. I have hauled stuff in my truck. That's why I have it. Dog food. Cat food. Sheep & Goat food. Propane tanks and gas cans.
It's bigger than I wanted but they don't make S-10s or Datsun pickups anymore.
