Mercedes-Benz buyers had to go to the only authorized importer of M-B cars at the time, Studebaker-Packard Corporation.

All the background arrangements for the German automobile industry were the efforts of Max Hoffman, the father of the German sports car.
Max Hoffman was the inspiration for the Mercedes 300SL and the BMW 507. Both cars are spectacular collectibles!

Wow, the only version I remember from childhood is the aluminum wagon, it was featured in Popular Science magazine.
