June's been a rough month, so, for my birthday I decided to head to the Blue Ridge Mountains by me lonesome for an introspective journey, and a break from everything and everyone at home.

Saturday started off rough... Caught a flat tire just outside of Richmond. Of course i know how to change a tire, but when the in-car jack is all fucked up, the task becomes impossible... or at the very most, incredibly unsafe.

On Sunday I got to a motel outside of Charlottesville where I messed around with some free lensing with my camera. Kind of dug this shot.

More to come of the actual mountains and myself.

Well, originally I couldn't get the lugs off... I was jumping up and down on my tire iron until I bent it straight! I had to walk to k-mart to get a 4-way, while I was walking a man pulled over and picked me up. His passenger was less than thrilled that I was riding because we were all jammed in the front seat of his pick up. haha. Upon my return, I tried again, and failed... again. At that point, I started looking up towing companies around. They all had terrible reviews, so it seemed like signing up for AAA was the only real choice I had. So, I did, and at that point, a guy in a jeep stopped to try to help me. We eventually broke the lugs loose, I thanked him, and he was on his way. Unfortunately, my jack then decided to crap out on me, bend, and rendered itself useless. After the guy in the Jeep, nobody else stopped. I waited and waited and waited for AAA to come, but nothing. I called back, and apparently they had cleared my ticket like it had been fixed, so I had to wait for another truck. It was frustrating, but about 2 hours later a tow truck showed up and loaded me up. The tow truck driver ruled. Every comment was full of sarcasm - which I'm a huge fan of - and I joined right in. Best tow truck driver I've ever dealt with. I was really on my wits end by this point and just wanted to go home.

Anyway, I restarted my trip on Sunday. I felt that if I didn't take this trip I would lose my mind. A couple of my friends had commented on my noticeable unrest and overall depressed and frustrated state. This trip had to happen, and I'm so glad it did. My mood had a complete 180.
