I've been seeing this one guy on a regular basis for a year now. This is the first guy I've gone on dates with (we usually go out for a bite to eat or drinks). We've had sex a few times. I wish I could see him more often but our schedules don't click like I want them to. I'm wondering if I should take things further but like I said this is the first guy I've dated. Any advice for this novice?

I've never dated a guy but there are some in the past I've wanted to. I'm Bi but I really want a relationship and not just one and don e.

I don't know. Maybe because I've never had been in any kind of relationship. I'm also afraid he might say no, which would hurt the relationship we have right now. I'm a shy person so I would hate to have to meet a new person.

I don’t think he’d be appreciative of that last comment. Don’t get into a relationship just because he’s there; get into a relationship because you feel wonderful around him and feel more alive, energetic and positive when you’re together. You ought to believe that together you have something wonderful and unique and could accomplish things together that would be more difficult to do apart.

Start with knowing that you need to be whole and complete as a single person. Magic happens when two whole people fall in love.

Well said I had not thought of it like that.

It may be that he wants to keep it casual or he may be interested in taking it to the next level. Well, the only way that you even know is if you talk to him about it.

Right its been a year and as far as I know he hasn't seen anyone else in a similar fashion during that time. I've never asked him about that though. I haven't seen anyone else. I even got off dating apps after I met him.

I haven't heard from the guy in a month now. We were texting several times a week. I'm worried that I did or said something he didn't like. Might be possible something happened to his phone. Texting or calling was our only way to communicate. I wouldn't want to just show up at his place out of the blue especially if I did do something wrong.

Why not do something between texting and showing up?
Send a physical letter. I wouldn't say anything about how you're sorry if you screwed up or anything. If you did, then you're just reminding them and if you didn't then you sound slightly paranoid/have self-esteem issues.

Just say that you're really into them and want to keep the line of communication open. Keep it thoughtful but don't go overboard.

So I'm in contact with my friend again. Guess he was busy finding a new job and moving. Upset a little that we moved 40 additional miles away and out of state. I'm hoping once he is settled at his new place he will want to hang out again like we used to

A guy who is planning a life with you you will include you - consciously or not - in his planning. That he doesn't isn't proof he won't, but it's proof he's not at the moment. You will never know until you ask, and yes there is risk - such is life.

So I ended up breaking off the relationship I had with this guy. Couldn't make things work with the distance. Also come to realize that we just didn't have a lot in common. That spark when we first met had faded away. To be honest now I feel relieved. Thought I would feel bad about it but I don't.
