Breaking News Powerball up to $1.5 Billion

I believe even in Washington state you can put winnings in an irrevocable trust. You name the trust and the trust is reported to the media not your name.

I am in Oregon.

But there may be ways to hide you name here, but I have read they like to use you in PR.

So they can advertise the lottery since it is ran by the state. A few have tried to get a bill passed to let us be anonymous or be able to claim it as a company, but it has never even got close to a vote.

Missouri did this last year. As of the end of August 2021, lottery members can remain anonymous.

The way it should be. I hate to say it, but to be honest I wouldn't trust some in my family if I won.

You can be anon in IL! It would be so nice to win give it to me over 30 years please!! If anyone here wins it could I trouble you for $150,00- 200,000 you know for things like getting out of debit, new windows, foundation repair, a new car, a whole house of furniture, carpet, new garage, hopefully if there was anything left some for education maybe after that a vacation!

Give it to me all at once.

I think they said cash payout would be $780 Million - after taxes you would still have over $400 Million -

I could give a million each to 200 friends and still have more than I could ever spend!

Well maybe I could figure out a way to spend it - anyone know if Blake Mitchell does private sessions? ;)

No one won last night so Monday’s prize amount would be 1.9 billion.

The odds of winning is 1 in 292.2 million.

I just found a quarter in my couch!!!

I found a folded dollar bill^ in my bush this morning. :luv2:

Some states do not allow lottery winners to remain anonymous. It's a matter of public record.
But some states allow anonymity. The Delaware Lottery even advertised, "Shhhh...if you're a big Delaware Lottery winner, no one has to know."
I'm not especially lucky buying lottery tickets in Delaware or my home state of Pennsylvania. I have won larger prizes in New York, New Jersey. Vermont, and Connecticut. I had to go to a New York Lottery office to redeem a Cash 5 second prize winner...picked up my check in Buffalo and impressed my bank teller at home.

I just read an article saying I live in one of the worst states if I win big. My state tax percent is 9.9%, only being beat by DC and another state that tie at 10.75%.

Collecting anonymously sounds like the witness protection program. Does anyone really believe that those people are still alive?

And, wouldn't people start wondering how you are suddenly living large, anyway?

Besides having my dream home made and getting a mobility scooter lift I wouldn't really buy much of anything that others would notice. I am a fairly boring person. As for those that ask I would tell them to mind their business.

Oh, c'mon. I thought we were going to Vegas! Although we probably wouldn't gamble most of it away...

It says the odds are winning are 1 in 292 million. I remember in Colorado when it hit 30 million and the radio station said they have a better chance of getting hit by a car here in our office and reminded us they were on the 2nd floor. :ROFLMAO:
