OH MY GAGA He Looks So Much Like Joey Stefano!!!!, With a similiarity To Todd Baron, Randy Page And A Little Bill Henson

I don't know if he was "the first", but he was certainly very popular in his day. http://www.juicygoo.com/brian_idol.htm

Back in that time, the distribution, or even just possession, of gay porn could get you locked up in jail! There were also advances in photographic, and print, technologies, helping to push the boundaries of all publications in general, which accelerated the promotion of Brian, and others, to go (in today's term) "viral". It's usually porn that leads the way in Media production and new distribution channels.

Before that, most male pictures required thongs, or pouches. It was VERY Daring to show dick!  :=D: (!w!)

What interests me here is the surprising announce of a Gay Convention as early as 1965. I would have thought these kinds of events started happening a solid decade later. Wonder what sort of gathering it was. Do you guys have any info about that? We certainly weren't that advanced in Europe back then.

Also surprised that apparently the word "gay" was already in full use at that time. Or is it one of the first instances? Does anyone of you know when it became commonly admitted to call us that (meaning when the word spread to the non gay general public)? Did it come from UK or US?

Thanks for your answers and for a great thread!

I came out to selected friends & my mom & 2 sisters in 73. I know the term was used then, since they knew what I meant when I told them. I've read (in a mainstream book about homosexuality, the title is long gone, LOL) that the term was used in NY & London in the late 1800s (90s) in gay circles. There is also a scene from a Cary Grant movie where he's wearing something effeminate & says something like "I'm going gay". Supposedly he & George Cukor who I think was the director knew that the term was used in "Homosexual Circles".

Again from my own experience, in 1969. I lived in N NJ (Essex County)& worked in a warehouse in Newark. I was involved with a married guy (he was 11 years older & looked like Clint Eastwood, LOL). We were driving home (he lived in the same town) & on the radio the announcer talked of a "riot" in NYC the night before which took place outside of a "Homosexual Bar/Hangout". Stonewall. The term gay was not used. The guy I was involved with said something like "wonder what those fags want". In what was one of the 1st times I ever spoke out I said "says the guy whose dick I'm sucking & who takes 3 fingers up his butt" He never used those terms again, though it took me 3 more years to be free of him (young love has no brains!). I wasn't under age, just young, dumb, scared & (for the time) innocent

I think the guy on the cover is Troy Stryker. He did soft core porn in the 60s.

Thanks a lot for sharing, MassRuss. Enlightening stuff, and moving too. Still intrigued by this "Gay Convention" openly advertised in 1965, four years before the Stonewall riots. Where did it take place? How many attended? Were there stands, activities? Must have been one of the first of the kind and probably closely monitored by law enforcement. Would be very interested to know more about that.

Wondering if it had to do with the Mattachine Society? A group founded in the early 50s (by the long time lover of Will Geer, Grandpa on The Waltons, among other men & women) The group would hold protests (mostly in NYC, Philly & DC I think). Could be them. I only heard of them after I came out, though they were (& I think may still be) in existence

There was a Bel Ami movie with Dano Sulik (about the sexiest little mf ever) racing thru the woods in cars and then having sex in a barn. The sight of his little muscle body giving it and taking it was golden. I wish I could remember what movie that was. This photo reminds me of that classic video.

I'm pretty sure that was Lucky Lukas back in 1998.
