Pride Month in the UK is the same as it is the US -- June, the month when the Stonewall Rebellion happened.

Just like Theresa May's "Brexit means Brexit", it was entirely clear what "love is love" meant when it was first put out there. And, as with any phrase that means more in its original context than its actual words say, both of them have lost ever more meaning as time has passed.

The 2020 US Census only recorded 1% of American households being same-sex couples.

The census itself was blocked from recording sexual orientation and prohibited recording any gender responses beyond M or F.

NPR featured a story yesterday that quoted a gay advocate as asserting some 80% of LGBTQ . . . citizens live in single households, not with partners.

That seems to imply that gays, even with lesbians, bisexuals, and transexuals, number under five percent.

The estimate is wholly consistent with what has been estimated before, and our formerly "own" JUB poster, Jasun Mark, endorsed, as a gay porn producer. In my opinion, the gay porn industry has a good reason to estimate demographics that greatly affect their revenues and marketing.

The demographic goes directly to the thought behind the original parades: we're here, we're queer. At this stage, I dont think visibility is enhancing gay rights. That's not a counter-argument against being out, or out and proud, but a statement that some visibility is actually counterproductive.

What is a good slogan for the gay rights cause? Sex is sex won't serve anyone's agenda except the hedonist's.

What exactly is the right pitch for a gay caucus to use to influence positively the heterosexual 95%-ers?

My first thought: Why is a slogan needed? Why does the heterosexual majority need to be further influenced?

My second thought: radical transsexual activism and its embrace by the gay establishment will only alienate the 95% you suggest need to be positively influenced.

If you have to have a slogan, what about: "We are Men".
