Bill Simmons is a Boston native, crazy Celtics fan, basketball aficionado, author and just about the best listen in sports

About 1x a week he riffs for about an hour on the latest sports topics - usually with fellow writers - last week he had on his idol, Larry Bird - what a listen

he had on Chris Paul recently too

anyway .......

today he had President Obama as his guest

I would be inauthentic if I didn't mention that having listened to the whole thing today I found the President insufferable, basically boasting about his sports knowledge, relationships with players and athletic ability

Bill Simmons is a kick ass listen and I can't remember the last time one of his podcasts wasn't first rate - this one was as exception

Desperate. Yes. Ridiculous? Definitely. He's been spamming the forum with his blithering nonsense the past two days. Ignore is a viable option. At least it would make it easier to wade through his cacophony of insults when they're swept under the carpet.

I am not a basketball fan. I can imagine Obama bloviating on some poor guys talk show. Of course I can also envision any from the other side doing the same. They all sound pretty much like nails on a chalkboard. One thing i do give Obama is he can carry a tune.

It's hard to have a dialog with someone who has a one-track mind. It's why I don't respond to many GOP posters here because there is no discourse for debate.
