My partner and I have recently been treated for Chlamydia after experiencing symptoms for 2 months. A swollen rectum, sensitive prostate, hemorrhoids, and a lovely anal fissure is what I was dealing with. I'm finally all healed and have been returning to my normal sex routine with him (usually once or twice a week). But after a few times of having sex, I can start to feel that stretching/about to tear feeling in my ass. Like a slight burn, but then it goes away about 10 minutes into the sex when I loosen up.

My question being, how can I treat this? I'm going to start using my prescription cream again to see if that will help. But I feel like once you've had a fissure your ass is permanently fragile.
I'm starting to lose my pride as a bottom and this is NOT okay.

You seem more concerned about the fissure than the STD. Obviously you are not monogamous. I would think the rectal tear would make you even more vulnerable to disease.

Did you discuss these issues with your physician as to when it was safe to have sex again and what things to avoid?

We are monogamous, so how you inferred that from my post is beyond me. My physician told me to abstain from sexual activities for one week during the treatment for Chlamydia. She also said that it is possible that we both came into the relationship with it. Who it came from is unknown, but if you know anything about it you should know that the vast majority of people do not show symptoms and that it can be dormant in your body for months to years.

I am more concerned about the fissure, because the STD has been taken care of.

Your physician is correct. Chlamydia can be a chronic infection that a person is unaware he/she may have. That's a small percentage of the overall cases, but it does occur.

Anal fissures can be frustrating to manage because there's only so much that you can do to avoid use of the rectum. Usually fissures aren't aggravated solely by anal sex. Defecation is usually the culprit when it comes to re-injury. If the cream and diet changes aren't working, it may be time to return to your physician to talk about other options.

Thank you :)

I had a very painful fissure for over two months after getting roughed up by a dig dicked daddy type LOL I tried EVERYTHING from suppositories to warm soaks and nothing helped, I finally went to see my gastro Dr who is also gay so he understood he said no anal sex for 2-3 months and he prescribed a topical cream called Diltaizem. The cream did help somewhat but what really healed it and made a HUGE difference is a couple of things I found out on my own after doing some research. First I was using baby wipes to clean my anus after a bowel movement (which if you have a fissure you know passing anything from your anus is TORCHER!) so instead of using baby wipes I started using Tucks Hemorrhoidal pads and OMG 3 weeks later no pain, no bleeding NOTHING - amazing! I found that the natural astringent in the Tucks pads help promote healing and also prevent infection. I use the Tucks pads after every bowel movement which is twice a day since I am also taking fiber which I HIGHLY recommend! Don't use that Metamucil crap instead try to find Fiber Well Gummies from Vitafusion, trust me THEY WORK and best of all, no artificial colors or flavors and they taste good! Take 2 Gummies after your last meal of the evening and that will certainly do the trick! Since I have been doing all three of these things I have had NO ISSUES ANYMORE with the fissure. Trust me you need a comprehensive approach to this so heres the rundown below and please let me know if you have further questions. Best of luck ..

1. Tucks Hemarrhoidal Pads (or genetric, just make sure it says 50% Witch Hazel - nothing less) after each bowel movement, this will replace your toilet paper. Please note that the first few uses might burn kind of like cleaning a cut with alcohol, but its totally worth it in the end.

2. Try to get your hands on some Diltaizem Cream to apply after you wipe with the Tucks Pads, it helps a lot. Its prescription so youll need a Dr's script but the medication itself is pretty cheap around $30 and the pharmacist has to prepare it for you so try to avoid going to a huge chain Pharmacy to get it filled, instead try to find a small independent pharmacy where the pharmacist can do formulatory prescriptions. Like in a pharmacy of a medical building (your Dr's building should have one)

3. Fiber ... but try your best to get your hands on some Fiber Well Gummies from Vitafusion, they are the best and they work awesome, no more sitting and straining on the toilet. Vitafusion sells a HUGE bottle of Gummies for around $12.00, the fiber in these are better and really soften and loosen your stool better than most of the larger brands out there.

4. After you are healed wait about 3 weeks after symptoms subside and get a small butt plug to stretch out your sphincter muscle, my Dr told me the last thing you want is scar tissue after a fissure because it will make anal anything uncomfortable so you need to stretch out your sphincter again so that scar tissue doe not build up around the healed fissure, use the smallest size and put in in after well lubrucated and just leave it in there for a few minutes to an hour at a time, be patient and if possible use it with the Diltaizem Cream ... it helps trust me.

My doc, who is so hella HOT, gave me some nitroglycerine paste. You would mix the prescribed amount of nitro with 10 x that volume of vaseline and "apply to the affected area" once or more times a day, as I recall. You might get a little rush out of it, as nitro is a vasodilator (can you say, "poppers"?), but the crash in blood pressure is minimized by the dilution in vasoline. You can check the stats on fissures.....well over the majority are resolvable without surgery.
