Price of gas where you live

:band:

I just paid $2.89.9/gallon about two hours ago.

Used 200 fuel points (earn 100 points/$100 spent at the grocery store, get .10 cents off a gallon) but (!)

Much better than last summer's trip where we were driving the huge Penske truck across the country that got 8.5 MPG and burned Diesel at around $4.50 a gallon

Hey.

Everyone in the US.

Stop whining about the cost of gas.

i've been paying $4.19 a gallon for premium for a long time, I'll whine if i want to......

Hey whine if you want but don't expect everyone else in the world paying the equivalent of over $5 per gallon for years now to have a lot of sympathy. lol

By the way, why would anyone use premium gas? It seems such a waste.

thanks I will whine at will......also so sorry for the prices you guys have been paying, it sucks. I remember when we drove thru Italy several years ago, we were shocked at the price of fuel there, and that was in the late 1990's.

my German auto requires premium.....

This.

The USA has relatively inexpensive gasoline compared to most countries. It's $8 a US gallon in England and Scotland. Western Europe it's $6-$7 a gallon. Canada has $5 USD a gallon. Americans whine too much about the price of petrol as we drive around in our Dodge Ram trucks, Chevy Suburbans, Ford Explorers and Hummers.

A large part of the problem is Wall Street speculators who are driving up gas prices.

In 1976 I was driving the Pacific Coast Highway and gas was 60¢ a gallon. I thought there was no fucking way I was going to pay that much for a gallon of gas, ever! Drove into San Luis Obispo and it was a more reasonable 45 ¢ a gallon.

£1.40/litre
$2.23/litre

so $8.40 / gallon

This is the same for me,except i now have a diesal car so i have to find another 6 pence per litre for the abilty to do a few extra miles per gallon/litre.

diesal $8.80 / gallon

I drove to Florida with two of my buddies for spring break in 1977, one day I said gas would never be over a dollar, i think it was like 50 cents or something then. My friend made me sign an oath writen on a napkin that I would give him twenty dollars if gas went over a dollar. That fucker kept that thing for 30 years. We were at a party a couple of years ago and he took it out of a sealed plastic bag and made me give him twenty bucks.....that fucker.... :)

HA! Good story.

I was in the middle of nowhere at a South Dakota junction the Spring of 1980. My truck was low on gas so there was a small gas station I pulled into. Gas was $1.50 a gallon and couldn't believe it. If I weren't in the remotest place in the country I would have driven on and filled up at $1.09 a gallon in an urban area.

We're not used to these $3.50 a gallon prices right now, but 20 and 30 years from now they'll wish it was that low.

Here's a picture I took driving through Fargo, North Dakota in January, 24, 2003, about 9 years ago. Times change quickly.

It's about £1.33 per litre which equates to £6.05 per gallon or $9.63 per gallon. It's an absolute rip off given that 2/3rds of the price is tax.

It's hardly the "fault" of anyone living where they live and paying what they pay for fuel.
Many of you paying whorehouse prices for fuel have, historically, paid whorehouse prices.
We in the U.S. are not, and never have been, used to those prices so we're bitching!
$3.69 today in Wisconsin where the road taxes alone are 33¢ a gallon.

Total US Fuel Taxes by State

Got fuel this morning.

$ 1.046 /litre. . . or $ 4.027 /US gallon.

hehehehe

Oh well, better now than 30 years ago or something. That $20 isn't worth anything like it was when the bet was made.

I have to buy diesel fuel once a day...

Today was the CHEAPEST I'll find for the rest of my trip up to Seattle -- and that was in Gary, Indiana for $3.64

Total cost for the fuel I burned today (150 Gallons)...

$545.00

And that is EVERY DAY...

ULTIMATELY, these costs are passed down to YOU -- the consumer who buys stuff...

YAY!! Like everything else! The gas taxes are what kills me, drivers pay all these taxes, tax on gas, tires, tax on the car putchase, then the roads suck, they cause damage to your car that you have to get fixed...and guess what...you pay tax on that too...

2 euros per litre, 2,66 dollars per litre, 10 dollars/US gallon.

Gotta love Italy.
