Pride Festivals 2025

All 32 National Hockey League teams celebrate a Pride Night. Since the regular season does not include June, these events are held at other times. Last season I went to events in Nashville and Philadelphia. In years past, I've been to many others, including Dallas and Carolina (Raleigh, NC).

I plan to enjoy a couple celebrations this June. Jersey Pride in Asbury Park, NJ is Sunday, June 1. Festival admission is $10.

The parade for Haddon Township Pride is Thursday evening, June 5, down Haddon Avenue in Westmont, NJ. HT Pride is by far the most family-friendly LGBT event I know. Many parents bring their kids. Girl Scouts march. School bands participate. I love it.
 
Bear in mind that there is a war on against LGBTQ people being waged in the US and other countries this year.

So maybe people should be less focused on the annual orgy of Gay baiting advertising by companies who forget this demographic for the rest of the year and maybe less 'Love is Love'
and more hitting the streets to protest Project 2025's plans for stripping rights and banning gays and trans people from public spaces, employment and freedom of expression.

But I'm pleased to see business support for LGBT events. Even if this year's corporate sponsorship is less, it still sends a message.

Target is still a premiere sponsor of Jersey Pride, despite DEI cutbacks. NJ healthcare providers, insurers, and pharmaceutical companies are still in. Burlington stores is a sponsor, and they're soon opening a new store near my home.

I saw no sponsorship from banks this year.
 
I love me some pride events.
Its one of the things I look forward to with June.
A few more are:
Long daylight hours!!
Nice warm/hot days. (since I live in a semi-desert climate, there isn't that awful thing -humidity- that would otherwize ruin a good warm day)
Thunderstorms (and this is a big one! ..though we don't get very many where I am).

Yep. Its just a matter of time before our dictator signs an executive order banning any sort of 'pride' or otherwize 'gay' event...
Will this year be the last year of pride? Maybe? Very likely?

Then after they are done hunting down all the illegals, they'll start hunting down anyone who's "not straight". or "not white" or etc...
Those concentration camps ("detention centers") they're putting together aren't simply storage places for illegals waiting to be deported (or otherwize quietly disposed of)...
That's likely still a few years off though
 
Jersey Pride was Sunday in Asbury Park, NJ. The weather was cool with a mix of sun and clouds.

The parade featured lots of wellness, religious, charitable and community groups. The Are was corporate presence...Bank of Anerica led off. Although Target was listed as a sponsor, I saw no sign of their presence. ThecWoodland String Band, a Mummers group from Philadelphia, played and marched. There were representatives from the NHL's New Jersey Devils.

A school bus from the Henry Hudson Regional School District (Highlands, NJ) was decorated for the parade.

After the parade...20250601_170451.jpga throng of people headed for the festival grounds. I didn't want to get in that so I went in the other direction and had lunch, then went to the festival. Unfortunately, this meant I missed the performances I wanted to see. But this was the stage.

It was a good day and a lovely crowd.
 
Just imagine Pride Month in the far future of interplanetary travel tourism. Show your Pride in the light of a double star system.
