Prince Harry "Dead In Iraq" Memorial

What about a memorial to those who have died?

In its own limited and ironical way, this Prince Harry statue is a memorial to those who died and to the fact that they would still be alive if they were as valued and protected as Prince Harry.

There are a number of painting the Vatican had 'altered'.

been to Sistine chapel
Michelangelo faboulous it was
saw david in all his glory

General grumpiness has over taken JUB of late.
I tend to agree with EffortlessPro. We tend not to read, but
react and them become beligerant.

I have been guilty at times. I know none of you would
do such a nasty thing.

Everyone should read spensed2's post. He hit the nail on the head.

The sculpture's an ironic statement regarding Prince Harry and those who have died.

Several years ago there was a trilogy of TV movies made in England, that began with "A House of Cards." In the second movie they showed Lady Thatcher's funeral (or her funeral monument, I forget which.) Of course Lady Thatcher was (and still is) very much alive. Many people in Britain threw a fit about depicting this while she was still alive.

Some people just have a phobia about portraying living people as dead. It seems in bad taste to them.

I don't nesessarily agree with that, at least not in this case, but I can understand why some might call it "disrespectful."

And I believe the issue with the Harry sculpture is the protection of political speech, because it is clearly a political statement.
