Prince is not homophobic. Actions speak louder than words. He's one of the most sexual and ambiguous male artists of all time! Look at his clothes, videos, and lyrics...he sounds like he's experimented with all types of freaky shit!

Ok that's a low blow. Prince is what you would call a musical genius. He does(or depending how you look at it, did) some amazing things with sound. But it is extremely hypocrital of him to want to be against gay rights. The man's built his entire image and stage persona off of our culture. He's a crossdresser for Christ sake! The man wears a blouse, lip gloss, and high heels, and my mom would still do him. He talks with his hands more then a mime! And he has nerve talking about people sticking anything in anywhere. I wouldn't touch his tounge or anything below his waist with a hazard suit on.

Pop superstar Prince is livid with New Yorker magazine editors after he says he was misrepresented as an opponent of gay marriage in a published article.
The Purple Rain hitmaker is reportedly "very angry" about comments attributed to him in a recent interview.
According to the article, "When asked about his perspective on social issues - gay marriage, abortion - Prince tapped his Bible and said, "God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out."
But a Prince source tells Internet blogger Perez Hilton, "What His Purpleness actually did was gesture to the Bible and said he follows what it teaches, referring mainly to the parts about loving everyone and refraining from judgment. We're very angry he was misquoted."

I am an authority on this subject, having been a Jehovah's Witness myself. I was expelled from the religion over 28 years ago because I am gay.

The answer to the OP's question is a simple one:
Prince is homophobic because he is required to be homophobic by his religion. The elder's manual for the Jehovah's Witness religion Pay Attention to Yourselves and to the Flock states that any member of the Jehovah's Witness religion who spends the night in the home of a "known homosexual" must be brought before a judicial committee and disfellowshipped (excommunicated).

If Prince changes his views to be tolerant of the gay community, he will undoubtedly be expelled as well.
