Problem after Surgery

About seven weeks ago I had an emergency appendectomy. The surgery went well; but I've noticed two problems after I had the surgery.

One: I now have very dry skin which is something I never had before.

Two: When I masturbate I ejaculate prematurely. I can't obtain a full erection when I masturbate. However, I have woke up in the middle of the night fully erect a couple of times. I just can't get fully erect during masturbation. And I"m assuming I'll be the same way if I have a sexual encounter w/ someone else.

I've not discussed this w/ my doctor at all; but i s the normal? If not, how can I correct it? Advice anyone?

I'm no doctor, and I'm sure the resident MD will tell you the same: call your doctor and discuss this with him.

x2, internet diagnoses are not going to tell you anything reliable. Your doctor will know what the specifics of the procedure and possible complications will be.

I think you should definitely call your doctor asap and get a diagnosis on this. It probably is something normal after a surgery, but you need to find out for sure and get treatment if it is warranted! Best of luck!

Give your physician a call. I doubt any of this is related since there aren't any anatomical structures concerning erections near the appendix.

Out of curiosity, did you have an surgery will the full incision or did they remove your appendix with a laparoscope?

I mentioned in my original post that I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night w/ a full erection. Well last night it happened again. I woke up hard as a rock. So I know I CAN get erect; but for whatever reason, I just can't during masturbation and I'm assuming sex. And this never started until AFTER I had the surgery. That is why I thought it might have been related to the surgery.

Weird.

This will warrant a discussion with the doctor. You can rule out a physiological issue since you do get fully erect, just not when you want to. Did you have any toileting issues after surgery? I'm wondering if this isn't connected with a loss of confidence. Have you attempted to wait longer than normal before masturbating?

The reason that I asked whether you had a full incision (laparotomy) or a laparoscopic procedure is that some patients complain of temporary changes in sensation after abdominal surgery. It's more common with hernia repairs in the groin area but occasionally we do hear patients complain that after adominal surgery, they do have temporary loss of sensation. Since you're having normal erections in the morning, everything does seem to be functioning properly.

Talk to your surgeon about the symptoms you're having.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys; but I've been working six days a week.

But my problem is starting to improve on it's own to some degree. I was able to reach full erection during masturbation a couple of times this week. I've not masturbated in a couple of days though; so we will see how it goes next time. ;)
