Project Runway (season 8)

Tim Gunn seemed genuinely angry tonight. My guess is that he was totally frustrated that A.J. was evicted, in essence, for buckling to Gretchen.

That was a dumb move. I am all for team work, but this is an individual competetion. I am not sure why they didn't just work on one look each. I think that Gretchen should have gone home. It was pretty much her design. I could tell with the back flap that she is so "famous" for.

ugggh....Gretchen is the worst kind of bitch....the kind of bitch that thinks she's the sweetest, nicest person ever.

Casanova's win just proved the theory that an artist has to suffer (and make us suffer as well) to create greatness.

Tim totally shocked me! LOVED it!

Ivabigun227, I will never look at Gretchen again without thinking "Gretched." Perfect. ..|

Just finished watching! That fucking egotistical back peddling bitch! Yay, Tim! Did not expect that from him.

Ivy's day will come. I just hope it's b4 Micheal's.

Peaches outfit was horrid. I'm sorry. Pink and blue and black lace? And those chains in the front? And, surprise, the judges loved it. SMH

Good for Casanova!

This season is a complete bore! zzzzzzzz

I miss Siriano! lol

wow, what a great episode. this might have been the most entertaining this show has been since season 3 or so.

gretchen: im always a little sceptical about the villains, because the editing is always very manipulative. but no amount of editing could have done what she showed of herself there. what a bitch! i love that project runway finally has a genuine villain again. she was mostly responsible for the sucky show, but im glad that they didnt send her home, im very curious how the designers will treat her next episode, and how her demenaour will change.

ivy: disliked her from the very start, hate her even more now. and unlike gretchen, who made some nice pieces so far, ivy has only sent ugly and/or boring stuff down the runway. she should have gone home.

andy and christopher: they seemed so nice, especially andy was one of my favs. it was so disappointing that they turned out to be so spineless.

team win: i dont wanna rain on anyones parade, but i think they only chose casanova as the winner for maximum drama. my darlings mondo and april had once again made fabulous outfits that were completely ignored. michael d was relatively unremarkable - i expect more from him at this point. those are the three im really rooting for now, although it seems like gretchen and valerie already have a spot in the top guaranteed.

The Philadelphia Daily News had an interview with Kristen last Tuesday.

She likes Andy best.

I'm sorry my homegirl had to go home, but I'll keep watching. Wasn't the team challenge a hoot?! And, yes, Casanova's pants outfit was nice.

Loved this episode, but most especially this season and the cast, well excluding Gretchen.

I'm not a fan of Michael C., but the guy does have feelings. Felt bad how they totally threw him under the bus like that. I hope he proved everyone wrong during the next challenges.

I love Chris, Andy, & Valerie... and Ivy, but her attitude does not match that cute face.

... which, to be fair, seems pretty inexplicable to me. nothing against the guy and its ugly how some designers go after him, but his designs are boring at best, tacky as hell at worst.

^ The judges constantly ram home the idea of a unique point of view. Everything he has done has been seen before. Though, to be fair, he isn't the only one.

Still, I'm really enjoying this season, and I'm eager to see where it will go.

Gretchen and Ivy are awful awful awful people and not very good designers at that. I mean, who made them the two Queens of Project Runway to decide who is fit to be there, etc. The way they threw Michael under the bus was despicable.

But you know what? Casanova, Gretchen, and Ivy will be there for several more weeks because they = higher ratings. Project Runway is similar to American Idol, it's not really about talent, it's about higher ratings.

In saying that - when are they going to do another menswear challenge? I used to love it when Bravo threw a few menswear episodes!!! :)

i want each season to have at least one menswear challenge, but the one they had was not very interesting. "design an outfit for a mainstream tv personality." meh. they should do something like "design an outfit for elton john", "design stage wear for marily manson", "design a menswear outfit without using black, grey, white, navy, or brown", "design a great looking skirt for men", "design an unisex outfit (and then actually have it worn by both a male and a female model)"... something like that.

Great ideas x-cess. I'm so sick of menswear challenges that are as boring and dull as most menswear is.

I'd like to see menswear just for the models *drool*, but I'm going to be honest... after watching 8 seasons religiously, I can honestly say that the majority of the designers CANNOT do menswear, or pieces for that matter. It's getting old, and I'm getting tired of seeing the same dresses over and over. I think all the talent stopped after Christian Siriano.

It strikes me that menswear hasn't truly changed for over 200 years: pants, shirt, perhaps a jacket, and maybe neck wear. The challenge I'd like to see: Design menswear that is totally new, flattering to the male form (how hard can that be!), and wearable by the ordinary guy--without looking like Captain Kirk or a high school band member (no offense to either). It's long past time for a menswear revolution.
