Project Runway (season 8)

Heidi was the client. He needed to take her criticisms seriously and with tact.

I have to disagree to an extent. I believe BOTH should have acted differently. Heidi did not present her criticisms with tact (unlike Tim Gunn who is excellent with the designers) and Mondo should not been so sensitive.

So who do you think will be in the final three? I'm guessing: Mondo, Andy and Gretchen. I wouldn't be surprised if Andy is the Project Runway winner but I'm hoping that Mondo takes it all. I don't think Gretchen's designs are strong enough but then I'm not on the panel of judges !

Why did everyone hate Michael C? I know his skills weren't the best, but the judges saw something. I swear the way they treated him would make anyone feel like an outcast. Mondo was the only one honest with him. Ivy sucked at design and was not nice. It seemed like there was a pack mentality to not like him when they all got together.

I think Mondo should win, hands down.

^Yea I read about Peach's comments and tbh she didnt seem like the smiley lady she presented. So I'm not sure I'd take her word for it.

Michael C.'s impression of Michael Korrs was hysterical btw

You could see that Michael C was in such pain, and that it wasn't so much about not going to Fashion Week, but about having to face his family and worrying that they would call him a failure (again). It's quite tragic, really, just how wounded he is. He was the only one of the four not to have family supporting him.

Mike C. has had it tough. There is an interview at After Elton where he gives some of the details of his family life, partner, ex-wife from an arranged marriage that took his daughter away from him. Then he gets all kinds of grief from some of his fellow cast-mates. I was reading in a different blog (TomandLorenzo blog) about his family being Roma (?) (gypsies)...seems somewhat reliable based on posts I read there.

I think he seems like a nice guy...surprised he's as happy/sane as he is considering what he's gone through. I wish he'd have beaten out Grethen...she doesn't deserve her spot ...that should have gone to April...

After Elton also has an interview with Mondo...here. Mondo deserves the win. ..|

Anyone agree that Michal should ditch his "partner" (seems more like his controller to me) and hook up with Mondo?

To me it seemed that his partner really cared for him that's why he's upset that his family is so critical of Michael's life. I just want to give him a big hug.

This season seems to be full of drama, which really what lifetime probably wants. The fashion is not upto par as the past seasons.

I think Mondo's going to win and he should.

Mondo FTW. The only one left who deserves it.

Michael C's exit was heartbreaking.

He's a sweet guy, but he also seems poorly skilled to cope with life.

This was a REALLY good season. I love the way they handled Michael. You really grew to like him and care about him and that last episode was so painful and moving emotionally, not unlike Mondo's HIV+ dress. And Gretchen also gave them a solid villain. It was a really good season.

Besides outing him to his parents (instead of urging and supporting and helping him find the strength to do it himself), I thought that bad-mouthing Michael parents in front of his son and Michael himself was definitely, to use an old phrase, infra dig (beneath dignity). You could see Michael was feeling uncomfortable. They are Michael's only parents, and they are the child's grandparents. What's to be gained by humiliating them, maybe even as they are trying to come round?

It seems to me he's trying to make himself Michael's parent.

And 'scusi, did not mean to interfere with Mondo's relationship (it escaped me).

I was really shaken up by what I saw. Michael bears a lot of emotional scars that many gay men have. Like so many of us, acceptance by our parents of our sexual identity means a lot, even more so if one's career choice is viewed as part of that identity. His boyfriend did seem controlling but I'm sure he saw that Michael was living his life for his parents and not for himself. I knew that all caramel collection was trouble. #-o Oy vey, if only Tim had said, "Michael, what's with the monotone collection?" when he went to visit him at his home. :(

I agree about the boyfriend. It's hard to be with someone who is in the closet.

As far as his mini-collection goes, I thought that he had some pieces that weren't in that color scheme, but that he didn't show them. I may be wrong though.

I think if you do things that are shitty, then you reap what you sow as far as Michael's parents go.

Who says they are trying to come around? They sound like opportunistic people to me. I'm not a fan of anybody that wants their gay son to marry a woman and I won't defend them.

It seems to me he's trying to make himself Michael's parent.

I think Michael needs guidance in his life and so he will probably attract a partner that will have some parental qualities. Michael seemed a little slow to me.

I know not everyone has seen the finale yet, so I'll just say I can't believe who won.

I'm disappointed in the winner too.

Being from Portland, Oregon, maybe I shouldn't be. This city, and the one across the river, has now provided three Project Runway winners. Am I in the new fashion capitol of the nation?
