Project Runway, Season 9

I was extremely impressed with Anya last night! That dress was amazing! Beautiful!!!

I was also surprised with Josh. The judges were correct that the 'corsage' needed to go! However, she needs to get over herself and quit the whining!!! He blew the win by attaching the 'corsage' and not letting the design speak for itself. Did anyone catch that smug look on his face when the judges were critiquing Burt? What an arrogance little bitch!

Poor Burt. Great skills but not current. I wonder what would have happened it he showed his 2nd piece instead?

I cannot stand Laura! That was awful!!!
 
I thought Laura's design was much worse than Bert's and she should have received the boot. Oh well. There's always next week for either Laura or Josh to go.....

Her dress was very cool and deserved the win.
 
Okay, I realize I am a hypocrite, because I watch a ton of porn and would love tobe in it, but after seeing Anta's sex tape that was provided by another user, I just don't think I can see her in the same way. Stupid, yes, I understand, but if she wins and gets all the prizes, won't this surface and keep her from truly attaining recognition for her work, whereas if Joshua or Viktor or any of the others that might win, could actually be legit from the beginning. That just sounds so wrong coming from me. And who is to say that themselves do not have their own videos that have not surfaced. I am just shocked at the moment.
 
^ I think there are many people that would hold it against her that she has a sex tape floating around online, if they knew about it...but many others, like me, that would not. Now, I'm not the one that'd be buying her clothes mind you, but I do think that porn/sex tapes are a lot less shocking to younger generations; they're unphased and desensitized by the sexploits of others. Many of which have participated in similar activities, so they'd be hypocrites as well. The fashion industry is filled with fairly liberal types of people anyway...sexually adventurous. Think of the famous male designers (Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfield...to name but a few) that have had highly publicized relationships with their much younger male model boy toys, as well as the many successful celebs that have tapes floating around out there (Kim K., Paris, Colin Ferrel, Bret Michaels, Pam Anderson, etc., etc...) For the most part, they've really had no major repercussions to their careers. Now I know Kim K. is not a highly respected designer in the world of fashion...her Kmart clothes are tacky, but she's successful in her own right as far as dollars and cents go. Does she care that that a some prudes hold her in disdain? Maybe a little...but the millions of $ she has eases that I'm sure.

As for Anya...if it gets people to notice her and talk about her in the highly competitive field of fashion design, then, as long as she can back it up with quality work, I think she'll not suffer any major consequences because of it. I'm sure she'll be able to eek out a living....like the other former PR contestants.

Personally...I'm not a fan of her crow dress. I thought the wings and tail were way too literal...which the judges highly criticized the bottom 3 for being. They turned a blind eye to the fit, construction and flow because there were a few good design elements to it. It felt very stiff and boxy to me though, and for once I agreed with Joshua that Anya's model being sewn into the dress should be taken into account by the judges. I thought Joshua should have won that challenge...the orange was beautiful and the dress had a really nice drape and style to it...effortless, as Michael would say. I didn't mind the corsage...much...it felt like it needed some design element up in that shoulder.
 
Judging from the after shows and how smug viktor has been both times, I'm guessing he is the winner. And Kim has been a nitpicky bitter betty so I know her ass didnt win.
 
I'm presuming Viktor won. His was the only cohesive and creative collection last night.
 
Anya was the best last night! Great work, beautifully styled, cohesive and told a story. No gimmicks just good straight forward design. IMO, the judges got it right!

I'm not surprised that Kimberly is in the Top 4. She is very good with the sexy cocktail look and up until last night she always managed to pull it together. However, Laura has had more Misses and last night was pretty bad. I don't care what the Judges say - wearing those garments with the circles would be a nightmare! They would catch on doorknobs, table corners, jewerly and most likely be torn by the end of one wearing.

I actually laughed when Josh's collection came out. It looked so inexpensive. He is so full of himself. Did anyone catch when he said...................I am now on the road to when people will write a book about me!??!!

Viktor, Viktor, Viktor! Really my all around favorite!! Sweet guy, extremely talented and great concept but as MK said - a little so safe for the RW. Very happy he's in!!!
 
yeah josh is full of himself but i still like him. his collection though left a lot to be desired.
 
this show is rigged.. Anya keeps making the same stuff over and over again.. maxidresses, big prints, fluffy pants, blah blah.. yet the judges never call her out on it. She also can't sew and her execution and finishing touches are always AWFUL.. yet the judges never call her out on it, she actually WINS those challenges! fucking hell.. a design she made literally fell apart on the runway, yet the judges said NOTHING. She keeps winning and winning, even though her designs are on repeat, and done badly. Yet she keeps on winning. Yeah, tell me again this show is not rigged!

She is obviously going to win, while a MUCH better designer like Viktor (my favorite), will be robbed again, like he has been robbed in 5 or more challenges already to that two faced "I can't sew" cunt Anya. But the worst thing is not the challenges he has been robbed of so far, no.. the biggest blow will be when the cunt wins the whole thing.

The worst decision ever was to move it to Lifetime for WOMEN, they have to have a female winner, point in blank.. look at last year.. Gretchen, the most undeserved winner EVER won over Mondo.. WTF?!?! yeah.. right, again, tell me this show is not rigged
 
Josh, with his hideous Debra-Winger-as-Wonder-Woman's-kid-sister-Drusilla tank top and miniskirt ensemble, should have been sent home. Really hoping that he doesn't make the top three, if only to see his narcissistic meltdown.
 
Well, Thursday night's show was a little surprising.

Surprising to me is how unimpressive Anya was! What happened to all her cool shapes? The 3 pieces that she showed were a rehash of what she did at the start of the show and had nothing to do with what she developed into.

Viktor was and still is the best! I agree with the Judges that he needed some help with the styling but from what I saw it was simply the best. I really loved the white jacket! How cute was the BF!??!!

Josh is obviously someone who needs a lot of guidance. He is no way near as brilliant as he thinks he is. Really - if it takes a visit from Tim to set him on his path what is going to happen in the real world?

Kimberly was much better than Anya and if the Judges had decided to go with only 3 it would have been justified that Anya would not have made. For once I actually agreed with Josh!!
 
Having four finalists instead of three is bullshit. Anya should have received the boot. Viktor has got to win. He's clearly the most talented.
 
Anya is very talented.But it seems after she went home to design for the last and final challenge she fell flat. She lost her mojo.I think Viktor should win it and probably will.I'm so tired of Josh's snide comments and he overdesigns.He needs to stay focused and edit his designs.Kimberly's designs are so-so. We will see on this week if they can actually blow away the judges.
 
I thought Anya, Kimberly and Josh each had poor collections for the 3 outfits to show the judges. Tough to eliminate Anya when the other 2 were also pretty bad, and Anya had an overall stronger season, in the judges view. If Kimberly or Josh had an obviously worse collection than Anya, they'd have gotten the boot though. Based on editing and judges comments throughout the season, there was never a question in my mind that Viktor and Anya would make it to the finals. Each were the most talented designers of the entire lot. Very different from each other too.

Really though, what was Anya thinking when she decided to put that ugly black bathing suit as one of the 3 looks to present to the judges? And, her sewing skills were absolutely terrible on that gold gown. If the judges based it on the 3 looks alone, it'd been justifiable to auf her. Taking the season into account, she deserved to stay.

Josh's black body suit with the chiffon front looked ok from the front, but from the back...eeek! The Olivia Newton John comment really made me chuckle. And, wtf was he thinking trying to wow the judges with a LBD...really? That's a middle of the collection piece to throw in as filler. The other outfit was kind of ugly too imo...hated the models glasses.

Kimberly's big booty skirt was also kind of ridiculous, as well as her styling of the models with the braid and big bags. She was always middle of the pack and never really a judges favorite. Sure she had a win, but the judges seemed to dismiss her and she just kind of skated through somehow. Nothing wow-able.

I'd like Viktor to win, but I've a feeling Anya will. It's definitely between either of them. No way will Kimberly or Josh win it, especially Josh. There cannot be another undeserving winner like there was last season. ;)
 
I finally gave in and went to the site that showed all the collections from Project Runway (10) that showed at Fashion Week.

Bert's was quite nice, in fact better than one or two of the finalists.

Most were very drab.

Anya's was much better than what we saw last week. I don't know whether she created new pieces or just didn't show the right pieces last week, but it was a strong collection.

The others were ok. I was sure Viktor would win, but I'm not so sure now.

Left to his own devices, Joshua would have sent the tackiest crap down the runway. Week after week, he came up with really ugly designs, and only after being advised by Tim or another designer (Joshua owes his spot in the top three to Bryce), did he realize that he needed to start over. He keeps screaming about all the years he spent in design school, but he still has much to learn.

Viktor is most deserving of the win. He is creative, with a strong aesthetic, and also possesses the skills to translate his designs into pieces that are well-made. He seems to have a strong work ethic, which is essential in any creative field, and he is confident in his work while still being open to criticism and able to learn from it. (And I still think he's cute... ;) )
 
I know people are gonna bitch and moan like crazy but Anya did make a beautiful collection. When her clothes were on the rack they didnt look like much but on models her garments were beautiful. She kept her POV as an island woman. She didnt need to make jackets and vests because that is not her aesthetic. That is not who she is designing for.

I thought it could have been her or Victor. I'm surprised it was down to Josh. i did not like his collection at all. If you notice the only one who had sour grapes till the end was Josh. And Anya was always there to comfort him through his countless breakdowns. Congrats Anya!
 
wow! I am so surprised that the judges went with the 'obvious' pretty. Pretty on the Runway but not really wearable on the street - and they did mention that. I guess what made it so easy for them was that the clothes were familiar, they look like what is in the stores now and have been for the last 3 years.

Viktor on the other hand looked to me the most High Fashion and ready for Bergdorf's. I was really surprised what a hard time they gave him over the 4 sheer black outfits. I thought they looked great.

I didn't care for Josh, again. IMO, they looked like cheap Mall clothes for teenagers and I am glad he did not win because in the real world no company would hire him with that rotten attitude of his.
