Project Runway, Season 9

^I think Kimberly should have won as well despite the fact that she did have a couple obvious missteps in her collection... i'm not happy Anya won over her. She had a good collection, don't get me wrong... but it wasn't all that eye-popping.

Victor though, shocked me with his sheer dresses totally getting lost in the other brilliance he showed. Makes me shake my head a little at him - he could have easily won.

I guess I can take consolation in the fact that Josh did NOT win, the arrogant manicured thing can't even be graceful in the end!

And because of that disappointing end, I zoned in and out of Project Accessory.

I suspected Anya was going to be the winner based on the season's editing and the way she was always being praised by the judges...so it didn't come as a surprise. I was more surprised that Josh got 2nd.

Anya had the best sob story...dead brother, just learned to sew, beauty queen, sex tape scandal...production loved it. Ergo...winner. Josh and Kimberly only had dead mother sob stories to use, and Viktor...dead brother too? I don't recall...

Viktor was the deserving winner and was robbed like Mondo last year. Mondo's AIDs sob story couldn't quite beat out Gretchen's homeless, broke, and dumped by BF sob story.

Good luck to next season's cast's families. The sob story stakes are pretty high.

so glad smug chipmunk cheeked Victor didn't win. there was a sense he had gone as far as he could go, creatively. whereas Anya is just beginning her journey - there's a sense of limitless possibilities. As with Josh, to some extent.

After I looked at all ten collections last week, I figured Anya had won and Viktor had lost.

He should never have added those sheer dresses to his collection. They put him in 3rd place.

Kimberly will make a good ready-to-wear designer. She doesn't have the skill, flair or creaticity that couture requires.

Will Anya become a noted designer? Who knows? She certainly has a limited set of design skills. But she surely hsd the most beautiful and cohesive collection.

I liked Anya's weekly challenge stuff, but thought her finale was underwhelming. Did she try her best? She didn't really have to as it turned out.

And yet, Uli, they critiqued quite loudly, and quite often: "one note. stop doing what you do best--it's boring. blah blah blah". I'd like to see some kind of do-or- die resort-wear battle royal face-off.

So Anya was judged cumulatively, I presume? Actually, they made no bones about it. But.... dark horse Viktor, strictly on his finale. He never stood a chance! Shame on Nina Garcia for not having his back.

Anyway, Anya's win I get. I can understand it was a 'gimme'. But Josh in second? How does that happen? Transparent, pantie exposing gown(s) trump ugly neon-green shorts every single time.

So I think they put the collections up for sale at this point? I'm going to guarantee that Viktor's stuff sells out first. If not, it just means they're lying.

Last, but certainly not least, I just have to point out how disturbing it is to see a man wearing sexy black pannyhose. That was gross.

I give Kimberly a lot of credit for listening to the judges and reworking her looks. I didn't like her mini-collection, but when I saw those same pieces in different contexts during her runway show, I thought they looked great.

Overall, I thought that Viktor was the strongest designer this season, although those patterned stockings he wore for the after-show made me question his taste level.

Josh couldn't resist getting in one last dig, could he?

As for Anya's win, it is what it is.

Overall I don't think any of the designers blew it away for the finale Runway show. In past seasons there was more of a wow factor but not this season! I hope next year's all star edition of project runway will be awe inspiring and show more skill and creativity in their designs.

I didn't know who to root for at the end; I liked Kimberly as a person, and her designs were interesting.

Victor had the best construction, and I liked a lot of his stuff.

Anya had great taste, but she wasn't a very good seamstress; though, I do think that the design aspect should matter more, regardless. The problem with her was that there didn't seem to be a lot of design to some of her stuff, either. It was just... flowy.

Josh was hot, but... a total bitch, and his taste level was awful. That's reflected in the auction by his final collection stuff selling mostly for less than $100 each, I guess. What was with the safety glasses on his first model in the mini collection?

Why was Josh a no show on Tim's behind the scenes/reunion special? Did he have a diva meltdown? Was he busy getting a new round of botox?

must have had a Waxing appointment..........couldn't miss it. Very important because you know He would never miss the chance to tell the world of his brilliance and cry about something.

I thought Laura's decoy collection should have won. It's funny how she was never that great during the actual season. Her taste level was just weird. Makes me wonder though if she had help with the final collection. Which is fine since she was out of the competition at that point.

Also, Anthony Ryan's was the worst. Although I like him as a person, he was rightly eliminated for his shit.

LOVED the Tim Gunn "Behind the Seams" special, especially the part with the video in which the designers thanked TG for all he did for them. Such a touching moment, and great to see TG on the receiving end of such love. That said, I was amused by Olivier's seeming difficulty in mustering an expression of emotion.
