At every stage of his campaign, the vile and vulgar rhetoric of Trump has been laughed at, condoned, and excused under the assumption that he could not possibly be elected as president. We Americans are now faced with the reality of a dictator- elect, and still we are told to be ‘’open minded’’ and ‘’give him a chance’’ despite his known agenda to dismantle civil rights and to create a police state. I applaud those who are demonstrating against this unmitigated blackguard. Trump and his family reminds me of Czar Nicholas II, and I would not be surprised if they met the same fate.

Mr. Trump has not yet ascended to the office of president, so it is unclear to me what the protesters hope to accomplish at this early date.

I am also disgusted with the adulation and apotheosis of someone who has no human decency. Yet his supporters think he is Jesus Christ redux.

That part of it really bothers me and is hypocritical in the extreme. If Hillary Clinton had won there would be zero republicans right now willing to be open minded and give her a chance. Further more, republicans have done nothing but obstruct and sabotage President Obama from the night of his election in 2008. That's been their number one goal and priority for 8 years. Now we're supposed to be open minded and give Trump a chance? I don't think so. Not now anyway. If Trump himself, before he takes office, proves to be other than the narcissistic, psychopathic maniac he was during the campaign and he shows himself willing to be open minded and work for the good all the people, then I might reconsider giving him a chance. But it must start with him first. Until then.... FUCK YOU republicans.

He was given many 'breaks' every day to show us that he was worthy of being president. He didn't. In fact, he proved just how unqualified he really is. We can only think that he will run the presidency the way he ran his campaign.

HE has shown us they way he really is. We cannot expect him to change. He's had a lifetime to become what he is. He's not about to change.
 
And here I thought right-wingers were bad 8 years ago when they whined that Obama is the anti-Christ, Obama wants to destroy America from the inside, Obama is a gun-grabbing communist, etc.... but it wasn't nearly this bad.

Trump is NOT a dictator. The US president does not have absolute power.
All I'm seeing are mass temper tantrums and childish name-calling because they didn't get their own way. Ranting and raving, and accusing everyone of being racist, homophobic, bigoted, etc, is not doing the left any good. From the outside, the left looks stupid right now. Nice job sabotaging your own side of the political spectrum by re-enforcing stereotypes.

As for the protesters...I might join them if I thought there was any point now....there isn't. We are screwed...gotta accept it. They voted..they won...the end.

I will never forget who they are though..and all the denials and lies...and twisting the truth into a pretzel....they finally showed themselves and true colors and they were exactly who I thought they were all along..nice to see them take their masks off.
 
I never thought a guy who talked this way in primaries and in the general election could win in the USA---well a Dem couldn't --I can just hear Hillary in debates with Bernie---"wrong you little hand jew---you are so old and ugly" lol---would have gone over real well lol Double standard with rich white repub guys.
So of course there will be protests in the short term---if the table were turned and trump won popular vote and Hillary won the election there would be a constitutional crisis of epic proportions.
 
Can someone please show me the source where Trump says he's gonna strip all Americans of their human rights and throw them into detention camps? Google has nothing.
 
I must admit I am enjoying all this weeping and wailing and knashing of teeth. It makes the victory so much more satisfying.

Perhaps there is something which is the opposite of a mandate?

A figurative 'vote of no confidence' must surely impede Trump's ability to enact his agendas? Certainly a democratic government is at least somewhat beholden to the heathen noise on the street?
