Proud Fat Girl Rants on Fat

Where did she get those statics from ? Most of the people i know that has lost weight are so happy with them selves they never go back. Im happy that shes happy with her self but she would with out a doubt look WAY better if she lost a ton or two. I know for a FACT no over weight person is happy at stopping at what, fucking "Big N TALL" "Lane Bryant". Every peace of that shits ugly and they know it. Dont you want to walk into a store and wonder if they sale your size ? I know you hate having to suck it in.

Fuck what if she has to defend her self one and and quickly loses breath in the process, what about diabetes, heart disease! None of that shits good nor is it cute to advertise that being over weight is ok.
Go on and out and live your life, im down for that i really like her on some level but trying to justify being over weight is just not ok.

Easy, tiger....:-({|=

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I am fat, and even though I want to be thinner for the sake of my health, I don't hate myself. I believe that was Joy's point. Accepting the fact that you can be fat and still be an attractive person, regardless of what bullshit comes from Hollywood and the fashion industry.

I'm all for losing weight for being healthy, and I'm in the process of doing so....12 pounds and counting. However, I'm not gonna wait til I'm at my 'ideal weight' to start being happy and start to like myself.

I can be fat AND beautiful at the same time. While it's true that you're not gonna see me shopping at the name brand stores that cater to thinner people, that certainly doesn't hurt my feelings any. There's too many other stores that have my size AND have slamming looking clothes. People don't stop and gawk at me because I'm fat, people stop and gawk at me because I'm smokin'! :gogirl: And you know what? I'm bigger than Joy!

Another thing.....please don't equate fat people as being the only sufferers of heart disease, diabetes and other health problems. There are lots of skinny people out there suffering from the same problems. Everyone, fat or skinny, has to work at preserving their health, it's not just a given.

But don't speak for me.....for now, I am fat, but I am beautiful and I am happy.

Deal with it.

Wow, I love this video. While I probably am 'underweight,' I have dated someone who was 'overweight.' He weighed 250, and was about 5'11. It did not bother me one bit, because he had the most amazing personality, and I always enjoyed my time with him when we went out.

Thats called a lie, a big FAT lie. If your eating RIGHT and your serious about exercising then your definitely going to losing weight. The system is as clear as day. If your actually believed anything that has to do with fitness or health coming out of that womans mouth, you are in desperate need of a reality check.

Umm..... Why are you acting so crazy?

You have an awesome attitude Circe Infuria and it seems like your living a fun life, i like that, but don't you think blaming this whole thing on society is just a bit over the top ? Ask your self, who is society ? Why don't they believe being over weight is "beautiful" ?
I personly have yet to see an overweight person that is physically attractive. No nobody brain washed me into thinking that, its just me. You cant sit there and say that cellulite and a double chin is your dream of the perfect man, because it isn't. Beer belly's and mammoth thighs don't turn many people on, and it not due to what society is telling them.

Over all you also have to look at the statics, a mass majority or fat people do have Diabetes, heart disease, and shorter life spans. None the less at lest your taking the steep in the right direction, gratz on your 12 pounds, awesome start.

Comrad, you asked the woman in the video for statistics.

May I please have yours?

Circe, dear, I LOVE your current avatar.
And you are indeed beautiful. A large part of your beauty is how you feel about living in your skin. You fit yours quite satisfactorily.

The only thing I blame society for is being short-sighted. Society tends to put more concern for looks and not personality or essence, and that is quite sad. Why does society choose to be that way? I dunno, but it's a damn shame.

What you don't realize, is that there are actually people out there that LIKE more rounder people...yes, they LIKE the round bellies and the big asses.:gogirl: Big surprise, yes, but that is the truth. My boyfriend (who is skinny) is a prime example. I've already told him that I'm trying to lose a bunch of weight for health reasons, and he's all worried that I'll get "too thin." #-o Yes, he likes my roundness, and everything that it entails, and you know, that's all I'm concerned about. The attitude of society is not shared by everyone.

I'm not losing sleep that I won't win any beauty pagents with my fat figure. I'm happy with myself and so is my boyfriend. What everyone else thinks of me is irrelevant. :gogirl:

And yes, I will agree with you, the stats do reflect that fat people suffer more from heart disease and diabetes than their skinnier counterparts. However, skinny people are not exempt from the health probs as well.

Just a few off the top of my head

You know thats wonderful. One thing life has taught me is that there is a fetish for just about everything. Thats fine with me, who and what people sleep with dose not effect me in the least.

Thank you for the statistics.

It certainly is eye opening, but as I said, I will wait until my doctor tells me I need to lose weight.

:)

By the way, I got this video link from my boyfriend, who is trying to talk me out of losing weight, because he likes my "spare tire." He's 5'4" and weighs 99 pounds, and I'm trying to get him to gain a little, because he's dangerously underweight.

My boyfriend's ideal man--well, I'm his ideal man, but not his ideal body type--is so big my boy can barely get his arms around him. My small, angular boy likes big, soft men.

well good for her. sadly it just isnt that simple for most of us.

Her message is "Don't hate your self" which is admirable. And also do the things you love now, because there is no telling you'll ever be thin or even live tomorrow.

However, it should not be ignored that being overweight is a health risk. I am not saying all overweight people will get diseases, but just being overweight, your risk of dying early from obesity related illness increases. So it's a good Idea to exercise, eat right, but still love yourself.

I think it's terribly unfair of her though, because she's very attractive.

Natural fat or big-bonedness is absolutely fine.

UNhealthy fat/obesity is not to be encouraged due to health concerns.

If her health is unaffected because it's simply in her genetics to be a tad heavy-set, then more power to her and everyone else like her!

She's really very pretty - although I'm not going to lie, my first thought when I saw her was "Wow, she'd be traffic-stopping if she was thinner". I have to confess that I've always been a 'sizist', but this video was quite thought-provoking.
