I would "consider" buying a PS3 for $199...Until it reaches that price point I'm sticking to my XBOX 360. I've yet to have my original XBOX break, my PS2 broke 2 times in 12 months.. FUCK SONY!!!!

SCEE (Sony Europe) made a false statement.
One thing about Sony is that they have a horrible public relations division. One part of Sony is contradicting the other. They have horrible communications with each other. Kinda like the CIA and the FBI. They both work for the same company but they get their facts mixed.
Two of the following will happen and has happened:
1) The 60 GB will remain. PS3 sales have skyrocketed since the price drop. It's sold out in Amazon after a 2800% increase in sales. Best Buy, Circuit City and other electronic stores all have the same situation.
2) This is a marketing ploy to drive up demand. "Buy the PS3 now or else we may run out of it all!" Which is working. People are now scrambling to get a PS3 out of fear of low supply.
After yet another negative Sony press thread by Effortless Pro, perhaps we can discuss the good stuff, like I don't know, Little Big Planet and Killzone 2?

Furthermore the prices for the models of the series U, S and V have been corrected downward three times since April, not because they failed to meet expectations or were too pricey (which they def. were), the intention was to get rid of them, since newer and better series are on the way.

Wow, why get so riled up over something like this. So some people don't get on the sony train. Big deal. I for one will hold out on buying a ps3 untill something comes out exclusively on it that I can't live without. And nothing like that is coming any time soon. FFXIII could be it, but I doubt thats coming out in the US any time soon (it comes out in japan in 08). And if XIII is anything like XII, I'll skip it all together.
I was a big sony supporter until they fucked up with the PSP. The PSP has yet to prove itself a viable system. The only reason I still have it is because I watch videos on my way to work.

Not every system is going to be perfect, Wii, XBOX360, PS3 will all have it's own problems.

No system is perfect, and yes they all have thier faults, but right now I have to say the 360 is doing the best. I like the Wii, but it's really only fun when played in groups. The PS3 is meh right now.
As far as the 360 issues go, I'm still on my first 360, and I got it launch day. My Wii has given me more problems than my 360

Ahh Sony. Why do you tease me like this? I was planning to buy one when Heavenly Sword is released but I still have a limit paying £450 only for one game I'm interested in right now. I think I'll buy a PS3 when MGS4 or FFXIII comes out, when there's a better chance of a major price drop but if they get ported over...well who knows.

The only reason why I would of bought a PS3 was for Grand Theft Auto IV. But it's coming out for XBOX 360 as well. PS3 has really been a big disappointment in the Next Gen sytem launch, hopefully they can make it up, which I doubt.
