Okay, it's been awhile since I updated things.

I guess the biggest thing that's happened is one of my co-workers went loco -not postal crazy, but batshit crazy (BIG DIFFERENCE). She hasn't been to work since October 1st, and hasn't maintained any of her required job things -lesson plans, grades, etc. She found time to send some very bizarre emails to the principal and superintendent... The administration required her to check into the psychiatric ward.

She's now on an unpaid administrative leave for 5 weeks total. The other math teacher and I have discovered she only took 5 grades for the 1st quarter and those were participation grades rather than work grades. Squirreled away in her room, we found stacks and stacks of ungraded student work. The principal also learned she had a box of student work at her house. It's taken my co-worker, two teacher aides, and myself three full days to sort thru everything and start piecing together assignments.

As a result of this teacher being gone, I've found myself having to teach two seperate classes at the same time. I have to teach my class, then go next door and try my best to get her class caught up to mine. It's been a nightmare.

Yes, there is a substitute teacher in her room, but most subs are terrified of teaching algebra...

Okay, break over. Back to grading another pile of my kids' work and wincing at the stack of work for her kids.
