Public Service Announcement

Ok you got me Winterknight and I knew it. My phrase "Winters" was just a shortening of the whole thing, sorry if it offended you. Although my username is trawler69 I have no problem with people calling me trawler or trawles or whatever. I'm sorry if offended you. It was not intended.

Well would you be kind enough to spell out the problem so we know why there is a problem and what it is, so that we / I don't repeat it.

Winterknight - calm down dude - this abbreviation is normally a form of endearment. I love it when people call me Pringies. It means they like you. Trawler69 (who is one of the kindest people on here) and others are trying to hold out the hand of friendship. I'm sure now they know you don't like it they will avoid but a polite PM would probaly have been a nicer way to address this. Who knows you may have even struck up a conversation?

](*,) ](*,)

Three phrases come to my local village idiot's mind - "How to win friends and infuence people." and tact and last but not least COMMON SENSE.

but then again what do i know](*,)

eM:(

if this has proven to be overly offensive and or none of my business, please report this posting to the mod, and indicate so and that you have my permission to have it removed asap.

so i guess me settling in for a long Winter's Night is out of the question?

Sigh.

Okay, look, I'm sorry. It's just my name is something I'm a little sensitive about. Names are words of power, after all.

This thread was NOT directed at a specific person. There are a number of people out there who consistently get this wrong.

I can live with "WK" or an S-less "Winter". But PLEASE don't call me any other variations on the theme, I beg?

^ Of course Joe with all of the above it depends on the spirit of how they are delivered. I call myself some of those in public amongst friends. But I love being called a wanker in anger because I can always retort "at least I've got something to wank" or "haven't you discovered it yet, it's great"

When people call me names in anger I always agree with them and thank them for their kind words - it throws them completely off track.
