there's this really hot guy in one of my classes, and he wears a lavender rope-like bracelet on his left hand. he seems straight, but like he could be gay. is wearing a purple bracelet like that an indicator? I thought lavender was like the "gay color"

Hmm, wasn't there a kid who got bullied because he wore a pink shirt to school once, because someone thought gay people were color-coded?

Don't read too much into what people are wearing, or what they eat, or what music they listen to. Lots of mistakes are made that way.

If you really want to know, talk to him.

Its usually the rainbow bracelets that give it away and even still, sometimes they are straight and have just been given a bracelet. The purple may represent the fact that he knows or is a survivor of pancreatic cancer. But yeah, you would have to talk to talk to him to know for sure.

Ask him about the bracelet, but don't say are you gay. Give him complements about it ask where he got it, and play the rest by ear.

It is best to ask him. Do not assume. When you assume...you make an "ASS" out of "U" and "ME."
