I lived through it too and read the article and followed the issue and I said there was some legitimate issues but that the affair as a whole was far overblown and extended far too long for partisan political hype as both sides got in on the shouting match of trying to out accuse the other of stealing the election. And I still stand by my opinion that the harm the whole mess has done to the foundations of our democracy far out weigh any benefits that was gained from it.

I will make one specific exception, we got two very fine lawyers from each side who afterwards set aside their political partisanship and are leading the fight for Gay Rights in America.

I agree with Star Jones' alter ego there and think the whole issue was blown way out of proportion by a barely stable gore who refused to believe he had lost and then proceeded to act even more obscure and insane.

No the right choice was made and the corruption was far out blown.

The only thing they figured out needed fixing in florida was they had to make the ballots understandable by a 1st grader because that was the educated voting public casting the ballots. So now they have morphed to the large crayon ballot.

The street demonstrations (much less than massive) protesting alleged ballot rigging is hardly evidence of a popular revolt against Putin rather Western media hype calculated to embarrass Putin.

Allegations of fraud in elections has also been evident in more recent years in the USA when recalling Florida 2000.

I believe you are seriously underestimating what is occurring there. Russia has not seen demonstrations of this magnitude in quite some time.

I believe that you are seriously over estimating what is occurring there when neglecting to recognise that most Russians prefer bread on their table, before worrying over which despot rules from the Kremlin.
