I'm more of the anti-conspiracy type. I think its terribly to naive to assume that you can accurately guess the sexuality of somebody you see on TV in bits and pieces. You can only see a corner of the puzzle, but are guessing what the entire picture looks like.

You do realize that's not exactly the best comparison. Beyonce's been managed by her FATHER all her life. I'm sure, just like it was with Brandy (who was managed by her mother and her mother had STRICT rules for Brandy including not being allowed to wear clothing that revealed her navel, for God's sake), her father had strict rules about who she was allowed to date -- if she even was allowed to date. That's just MY assumption, considering how controlling he's been in regards to her career. But that's why I don't think most people ever thought she was a lesbian.

Latifah's been in the entertainment industry since she was 18 -- she was 23 by the time she booked Living Single in 1993 and 25 when she filmed her role as lesbian Cleo in Set it Off. So in 20 years of being in the business, the ONLY person she's been photographed with/seen with in her extremely guarded "private life" on several occassions is her "fitness trainer"? Tell me, why would a woman who is constantly battling and denying gay rumors only allow herself to be seen with another woman out and about in her "personal life?"

Like I said, it's cute to give Dana Owens the benefit of the doubt but let's look at all the coincidental pieces of the puzzle we DO know about her.

-Played sports in high school... specifically BASKETBALL.
-Took up rap (a predominantly MALE musical genre) as a career, even though she's a wonderful singer.
-Has never or rarely been photographed with a man that wasn't business related EVER.
-Has been spotted at Lez bars.
-Has been numerously photographed with her female "fitness trainer"
-Played a BUTCH LESBIAN in a major motion picture.
-Has never DENIED being lesbian, just always dodges the answer.
-Good friends with Rosie O'Donnell... HELLO!

I mean, dear God! How many red flags does a person need to say, "Hey, you know what? This person might not be hetero" before we're allowed to call a spade a spade? It's not like people are pulling shit out of their asses... so I don't understand all of this chastising people for daring to look at the things we DO know and the pieces we DO see and drawing a very possible conclusion.

I'm not chastising, I'm saying some of this (including a few of your "evidences") are based on stereotypes, the rest is based on the assumption that we know how she lives her life based on a few paparazzi photos.

Let me ask you this, which celebs are sluts and which are monogamous? You can't say in many cases because many may be photographed with a guy for PR while they may be permiscuous behind closed doors, some may never been photographed with a lover but may be in a LTR.

The funniest quote of yours is "why would she allow herself to be photographed...."

I don't think Latifah wakes up worrying about how she'll be perceived by each photograph taken. If she's photo'd with a man people can say she's a nasty slut (and probably will). People look for juice they can interpret from photos and that's why many celebs keep their private lives private, because big mouths and speculators start posting a million posts a minute about "I saw a pic of Queen Latifah with a white man, she only dates whites guys and hates black guys" or "I saw a pic of Queen Latifah being run up by a female, that means she hates men and eats pussy every day."

I wish I had a dollar for every gay duck that looked like a gay duck, quacked like a gay duck, but turned out to be a straight duck that happened to have lots of characteristics and stereotypes that closed-minded speculators and sensationalists interpreted as homosexuality.

If you're going to be a condescending know it all and laugh at my quotes, do yourself a favor and at LEAST quote me correctly AND in context. I didn't say a thing about her "allowing herself to be photographed," so hold your laughter. I said:

That's what I meant. If she isn't a lesbian and doesn't want people prying into her personal life, why doesn't she take a quiet but preemptive strike and QUIT DOING THINGS THAT SCREAM LESBIAN?!?

And yes... "evidences." You know, the things people use to help support their opinion? I'm still waiting to see "evidence" that can help me think she ISN'T lesbian. If you have anything substantial, please... share!

And I agree with the "Seems Like" factor that a LOT of people are subjected to once they hit the media. It's not fair.

But with Latifah, it's more than just a "seems like" vibe from her. It's the same vibe I got from Rosie O'Donnell before she came out in 2002. Or Neil Patrick Harris... or David Hyde Pierce... It's one of those "um... who did you think you were fooling all these years" vibe.

I think, again I said I THINK Chris Brown "seems like" he's got issues concerning his sexuality. I think, again I said I THINK 50 Cent "seems like" he has issues concerning his sexuality. While I have my gut feeling, there's been at least bits and chunks of evidence to contradict my opinions.

Ain't a damn bit of anything has come to light regarding Latifah -- the same way nothing came to light contradicting the rumors about O'Donnell lo those many years ago. And the same kinds of pics were taken of Rosie that were taken of Latifah and the "trainer." The pics of Rosie's lover made it seem as if it was just Rosie's nanny out taking Parker for a stroll. The same way it seems like it's just Latifah's "trainer" out with her taking the dogs for a walk.
