Have you let your doctor/physician know you engage in anal sex?

There are some health complications associated with douching (improperly, as many bottoms/vers do) and receiving anal sex and letting your health specialist know is imperative.

Kudos to you sir for taking your health seriously. I did the same poll on a black gay forum and they acted as if letting your doctor know you engage in anal sex will result in the doc telling your whole family you're a huge flaming queen.

Really? I find that shocking that any man would think that way. It makes me sad that people cant be honest with of all people their own doctor.

Pride and ego are faaaar more important than their sexual health. Apparently people are comfortable talking about their sexual activity with strangers on the interwebbz but letting their health specialist know if off limits.

I am saddened by the number of folks who WOULD but can't afford to even see a doctor. Fortunately for me I haven't had sex in nearly half a decade, a few years back I went in for one x-ray and that muhfuchuh cost me two-thousand dollars. I'm glad I'm not having sex anymore 'cuz I sho' couldn't afford to see a specialist.

They have a crippling fear of being "outed" so I guess they think that their physician is going to call their mother and pastor and say "Your son is having anal sex! He's a huge dick-taking queer!"

And folks wonder why I always stress better sex-ed, better sex-ed, better sex-ed. Considering how much of this country engages in anal sex (homo and hetero alike) you'd think our public education system would revamp itself. I guess real things like this get put on the backburner, less favored than algebraic equations that we're never going to use.

Sad but not surprising, America's socio-political atmosphere doesn't exactly encourage gays to be honest about these kinda things.

i dont have a family doctor, but when i went to the student health center to get checked i did tell them that i bottom.

My doctor is aware that I'm gay and (on rare occasions) engage in anal sex. No issues.

when it comes to things like that i generally ask my patients in a non threatening way - like giving them a list of things that can cause the problem and listing wat i suspect close to the end. I would agree however that few physicians know or understand the health needs specific to homos like us. I tend to be upfront and non threatening - and i try to give as much info as possible about future health needs.

Yes, my doctor knows. It's on my file now so I don't have to tell a doctor anymore. Of course since all health files are now in a database anybody that has access to records is able to check. Although I doubt that anyone working in health care is so bored with his/her job that he/she is looking at health records to pass the time.

Also I dn't "douche" because I believe it's not healthy for you.

So the last time I saw one, I didn't even know anal sex existed.
