Question for JUB Republicans

I'm not Republican but to answer your question(s)

1 - not aware of any behind the scenes agreement
2 - I do think there is far too much left wing, make that ultra left wing propaganda spewed - it's nauseatingly positioned as something other than the partisan drivel that it is

Can't speak for anyone other than myself but I think I'd make money in Vegas betting on "I'm not far from the truth" on this one - it's a sucker bet quite frankly

i try to remain objective when it comes to politics. keep my votes private. and find (after some many general elections in my life) patterns repeating themselves. i think if there are republican JUBers and they want to voice thier options, they should do so.

if a "republican" trend seems to be welling up in the posts, i don't take it as some type of dark omen casting for controversy - i just read the posts and think about if it makes sense to me or not.

i think it's a safe to assume that gay republicans are in the minority here - hearing their opionions (considering the courage it would take to post them) would be interesting (if the string doesn't evolve into a online brawl - i can't learn anything from that).

so for what it's worth, i'm not really concerned about a small swing to the right in JUB. thinking everyone should be entitled to their own opinion - and on an issue as important as electing our government, i like to be imformed as much as i can - so i can make my decisions.

^ Having been here since May of 2005, I can tell you that this forum has never been 100% percent of anything.

This 80/20 thing isn't as cast in stone as the creator of that myth likes to think, and sometimes I can't help but think that it was created so that he might have some type of cause to champion; defending the underdog so to speak.

If one were to step away from the posts in this forum, and look at the bigger picture, it's probably a pretty fair representation of the political views of many within the GLBT Community, if not the nation as a whole.

If it slants a little to right here and there, it's because there are individuals who support more conservative views, while not necessarily supporting any particular party.

Why there at those on the "left" who find that idea abhorrent to them I'll never understand. However, I personally share a distaste for those who will so blindly support a group of individuals, talking points and all, who want nothing more than our their own demise.

As to there being a concerted effort by anyone to organize into a collective group to effect some sort of change in this forum, keep in mind that even the Moderators don't agree 100% percent of the time on anything either.

^Sure, it's not 100%, and I don't like the 80/20 moniker either. Exit polling shows about 25-30% of gays vote Republican.

And I don't like it when anyone blindly follows their party's talking points.

I don't have a problem with Conservative Gay Republicans.

I applaud my fellow members of the GLBT Community who want to take their party back from the neo-nazi-bible-thumping-fascists who've all but destroyed the party of Barry Goldwater, and Ronald Reagan.

I say good for you!

Where that support dwindles is when there's a concerted effort by those claiming to be members of the GLBT Community (if only by the nature of their personal relationships) to support the current Republican Party leadership and platform without question.

Hey being a Gay Democrat isn't a cake walk, so I understand the frustration that many of you have trying to find a voice within the Republican Party.

But being a Gay Democrat doesn't mean that I'm going to tow the "party line" on every issue.

I'm not seeing that from many of the self proclaimed Republicans / Conservatives who post here.

We had a event at work today and they paid a comedian to come in and entertain at the end. He made many jokes about the military and staunch, starched unmoving attitudes of those present. It was received very well, hell we laughed our asses off. Yet he still pulled off something that is hard to do. He framed a joke about GW that we all laughed at and I wanna share it.

You know I feel like the Iraq war is like George Bush jerking off because it is the same to send the little troops off to die without completeing their mission.

Now I would agree that we are not being allowed to finish the work but I would disagree that George is soley responsible for not giving us the keys.

Finally (another joke) The comdedian worked many cruise lines and said he has never seen a ethnic type argument on the high seas. 52 different countries and cutlures and nothing so he suggest taking all the waring and disputing country's leaders out on the "PEACE ONE After a week if they dont come up with anything then we sink it. I figure about Peace 3 or 4 we should have some world peace.
