I'm kinda shy at first. I just find it really awkward making small talk with people, especially people who I don't really know. Once I've spoken to you a few times then it gets heaps easier.

I agree when you say that we don't stay shy. Fortunatelly.
In my case, I can say I was very shy. Years ago, a guy hitted on me. He was the contrary. The first day we met, he caressed my thigh. He didn't know if I was gay or not. At the beginning, I have rejected him. But he continued. Sometimes, he caressed my ass. He was very attentive. Later, I let him. I no longer rejected him. But, one day, for Christmas holidays, he asked me to come with him in his parent's house, just he and I. I have paniced and I have refused. After the holidays, he stopped hitting on me, he stopped talking. That was terrible because I ended up loving him. I tried to speaking again with him, but that was too late.

Today, I'm less shy. If someone ask me to go with him in these circumstances, I'll say yes. I have gained in assurance. I know that approaching a guy will be difficult, but not impossible.

We have to do an effort. If we don't, there will never have a second time for us and we'll never find a boyfriend or a partner. If we are rejected for one reason or another, it's not the end of the world.
