Question regarding to exposure to HIV...

So wasn't sure how to title this but heres my scenerio....
On saturday I had a hook up with a guy that I talked to online here and there for like 2 years. We had never met but on saturday we decided to meet up for some random sex. I went over to his place. However before that I asked about his HIV status and said he was negative and was clean of any STD's... he joked about being clean and how I can bareback him because of it. I told him that I had condoms and lube and would take them along. He said nice.

So I get there we, mess around, do oral, give him a rim job and then Anal... I wore a condom.. but didn't noticed I grab them from my older stash. Anyways we fucked for good bit switch positions, but I didn't come inside him, when He came we decided he would jerk me off since I was close to cumming. When he pulled the condom off, a bunch of precum came flying out... which hopefully means there was no rips on the condom... and he blew me until I came(not in his mouth though)... SO i thanked him cleaned up and left. However, the next day I feel my glands start swelling up for part of the day, then the following night I end up with a sore throat. then after that I now have a cold... had bodyache and headache yesterday, today I just have a runny nose, with a cough. With all this I'm feeling paranoid since looking at HIV symptoms online it says that symptoms can show up days after being infected?? SO i wanted to ask if what is happening is just a coincedence with a cold(it is freezing outhere) or something worse. And also since it was just saturday when is is the best time to get tested after words??

What it means is that when looking for the cause of the illness, look for the most common thing, not the most exotic and rare thing.

Chances are that you caught a cold or the flu. Your symptoms are most commonly associated with those very common winter illnesses.

Thanks for your input... I just get a bit paranoid especially since I'm always safe and hardly ever mess around like that, and I know of people that sleep around and don't get affected(good for them) and sometimes I feel that the time I decide to do it will be that one bad time!
But yeah I mean there hasn't been no fever I haven't missed work... but will probably get tested soon just incase...

What is PEP?

PEP is a course of treatment with anti-HIV medication. Start taking the medicines as soon as possible after you’ve been exposed to HIV, ideally within a few hours. PEP is unlikely to work after 72 hours (three days) and won’t usually be prescribed. The medicines are taken every day for four weeks.

Where can I get advice about PEP?

If you want PEP, visit your nearest sexual health (GUM) clinic or A&E department. You’ll be asked some questions, for example:
who you had sex with, to assess your risk of exposure to HIV, and
whether you had oral, vaginal or anal sex.

You can ask, but I would be surprised if you were given PEP. You didn't have an exposure that would qualify for PEP.

1. You were the top.
2. The condom was intact.
3. Neither of you exchanged body fluids.
4. The viral illness that you came down with was too early even if you were exposed to HIV.

It's just a coincidence that you came down with an ordinary viral type syndrome the next day.

It is still worth a shot, also he could simply just lie. They can't deny him PEP if he truly believes he's had contact

you need to take a deep breath and calm down. think this through rationally. KaraBulut knows what he is talking about. You used protection. There wasn't any leakage. The condom didn't fall off or break. You were the top. yes it's possible for the top to be exposed but the odds are less. Your symptoms started very close to the time you were with this person. Take a look at everything. Your letting yourself get carried away. The vast majority of guys that test positive are completely symptom free. I just took a class on aids education and while I wont say your over reacting. I think you need to look at the facts rationally and not emotionally. PEP protocols are usually used when there is a confirmed exposure to someone that is known to be positive. Not only due to the expense but the medications used can have some terrible side effects. If it makes you feel better talk with your family doctor.
