It seems that you are hesitant about circumcision. I am cut and sometimes I envy uncut guys. The only disadvantage I can see is cleansiness. Uncut guys have to wash inside the foreskin, but you can do that easily. If you think that circumcision will boost your sexual life, then go for it. It is really difficult to advise someone to circumcise or leave the skin as is. It's a matter of choice at the end.

Okay, I'm a guy (obviously) and I was never circumcised.

I'm thinking about it now because it gets very annoying to have, but I know that if I get rid of it the glans will probably become inflamed because of how sensitive it is.

Has anybody been RECENTLY circumcised? Do they give your penis anesthetics? Or do they just clip it off?!?

Do they give you any sort of cream to put on it afterwards? Does it leave a scar? An ugly one?

Should I get circumcised at all? I'm kind of miserable with it, but I'm still glad that I wasn't when I was born because I like having my own choice...

Any input?

Questions: why are you miserable with it? Why is it annoying? I am uncut and exercise immaculate hygiene (which is not a problem by the way), and I love my uncut status.

Yesterday, Dr. Dean Edell said that circumsized penis's had 1/4 the sensitivity of uncut penis's.

Hi Galchovar,
There are pros and cons on being circumcised as an adult. In the end it is either a medical or a personal decision to have it done. If you're considering it for personal reason, do your research first.

I underwent a circumcision last November. It was a personal choice, and I don't regret it. I disagree with some of phex1's comments. His experiences are not necessarily what yours would be like.

My doctor did not show me any pictures of how it would be done. It was to be a circumcision, period. A local anesthetics was also not mentioned as an option, thankfully. The day prior, I went to the hospital for a quick blood test. The day of the operation, I reported to the hospital around 7 a.m. They gave me an anesthetic which made me sleep through the entire operation. Shortly after I woke up, I left the hospital. I was home around noon.

There was no ugly scar. I like the outcome, as does my bf. The healing process did take a few weeks, as you'd have stitches, which will eventually come out on their own. You'd walk funny for about two weeks, and yes, you'll be extremely sensitive for a while. That'll pass.

Do your research first and talk to your doctor. You may get lots of personal advice why you should or shouldn't do it. In the end, it's your decision, and if you go through with it, you won't be able to reverse it.

I was circumsized at 21 because i wanted to get circumsized. I don't regret and sex still feels the same to me. I was given drugs (so good), they stitched me up and i was out for a fewe days. They gave me this ointment and the covered it up with gauge. Getting a boner was a bit painful, but not too bad. After healing, i jacked off numerous times.

Well, really, your pubes getting under your head shouldn't be an issue if you're cleaning under there regulalry. I'd imagine that hair getting tuck and causing irritation would only be if they had been there for a more than a day or so. If it's to the point that you;d consider lopping off your foreskin, then I'd see if it's more of a hygiene issue.

My foreskin has never had that problem and I do bathe regularly and clean under my foreskin.

Maybe you're over sensitive. When I was an adolescent, my docotr recommended exposing the head a little, like hen cleaning it with water in the shower or cleaning myself after goign to the restroom. Those things lower sensitivity to a normal level.

I usually don't ever have problems with my glans that it's so sensitive that soap stings it. Maybe you should consult your physician if it's that sensitive.

I did that once. Never going to do it AGAIN. Ever. My glans was inflamed for about two days and it burned just trying to pull the foreskin back...

That's kind of why I wanted to get it removed. It's too damn sensitive.
So your solution to that is to have it permanently exposed? I have a feeling that'll be a bit more uncomfortable for you than getting soap on it.

My "research" on the Internet shows that there are lots of voices against tampering with the "original equipment" and few voices pushing circumcision.
Personally, I am glad no one collected a fee to deprive me of my foreskin; I have never had any trouble keeping it clean and I do know that there are lots of wonderful nerve ending in that bit of flesh. My partners never complained!
AND, AT 18 I HAD ONLY JUST BEGUN TO FULLY APPRECIATE THE FULL BENEFIT IT PROVIDES. ONCE YOU HAVE LOST IT, YOU CAN'T GET IT BACK!!!!!

Anyway, another thing is that it burns the hell out of the glans whenever it touches soap. Who, in their right friggin' mind, would put soap in their glans to clean it? That's like putting soap in your eyeballs. And that's how it feels.

I did that once. Never going to do it AGAIN. Ever. My glans was inflamed for about two days and it burned just trying to pull the foreskin back...

That just sounds odd to me. Soap has never caused a problem for me. You might want to mention this to a doctor, especially if it could be a continued problem after circumcision (the foreskin in place probably prevents any accidental contact with soap).

About the scar:

Circumcision ALWAYS leaves an scar as any other surgical procedure. In some people are more visible than in others. Depending on the melanin in the skin it will leave a darker or lighter tone, or both. Melanin is the pigment that gives skin colour, so in this particular topic, the lighter the skin the most unnoticeable pigmentation, olive skin (latino's) tend to create darker scars due to melanin.

It will be an ugly scar if your body tends to create keloid scarification which is when skin cell overreact growing and regeneration of skin and so the result is a bump scar. This is on genetics so if you have it there's no way to avoid it, radiation is used to reduce keloid formation but doesn't eliminates it at all.

Medical facts: if you get circumcised as an adult scar will be more noticeable due to age, but shape will be more defined and the amount of skin removed will be more under control since genitals have pass development stage. Men who were circumcised after birth had years or advantage in the cell regeneration and since major stages of growing are childhood and adolescence there's plenty time for cell regeneration, so usually scar is less noticeable, and not so perfecty shaped, but due to teenage years and their effects on genital development it's one of the major backdraws concerning to functionality (type of cut, penis dimensions, amount of skin removed and skin movility).

If the skin tone of your glans is very different from the shaft it will remark the union no matter if the scar is unnoticeable.

Unfortunatelly the resulting scar of a circumcision (or any other surgery) can't be predicted efficiently.

I suggest you to visit your doctor, i think circumcision it's a radical step as a solution to your problem, and i'm afraid is not really the best one. Irritation of glans can be produced to a particular soap, which is mostly the real cause. So if this is YOUR case, circumcision will get it worst instead of ease the problem, since your glans will not be protected anymore. Believe me, having a doctor as a father (he was director of a major clinic, now retired) i always had access to a lot of medical books.

I think practice circumcision as a regular procedure after birth it's stupid.:grrr:

I think go against circumcision is stupid too, since there are cases where is needed.:grrr:

Circumcision must be option and a personal choice (if it's not need for it in medical terms).

I choosed to get circumsiced just about 2 years ago, so feel free to ask if you still have questions.

But, I still think you should consult a docotr because I don't think yoru glans should be so sensitive that your finger causes a stinging sensation.
