Congratulations! I wish you lots of good luck and thoughts. I am sure it will be difficult, but well worht it in the end. It will not only benefit you, but also all of those around you.

CONGRATULATIONS! :=D: :=D: :=D: :=D:

I can tell you a horror story about how my dad died of lung cancer caused by smoking!

Anyways, my two older brothers quit smoking by using Tootsie Pops to help curb their habits. Instead of reaching for a cigarette, they would reach for a Tootsie Pop. They have been quit for more than twenty years now!

GOOD LUCK!

Best of luck, a habit is hard to get rid of but an addiction is much worst. But you can always turn to us on JUB for moral support when needed!

:)

I had another cigarette today :( ugh!!! but going from 12/13 a day to 2 in 3 days is a big difference! :-)

Its a good start, keep your eye on the goal!

Don't know if this will be a factor for you, but when a friend of mine quite a while back, he found he needed to wash every jacket etc., he had, because the tobacco smell on them was tempting him. That almost meant he finally had to acknowledge what we had told him for years - that the "smoker stench" was not something we non-smokers made up!

Personally I found that I need a crutch. You're sneaking cigarettes... go find an electronic cigarette that contains no nicoteine.

I only spend about 20 dollars every 1.5-2 weeks on refilling the fluid. I'm taking my quitting very very slowly, and there are days when I don't smoke the electronic cigarette or a real cigarette, as well as days where I smoke the electronic cigarette a ton. 2 months now, 6 real cigarettes total.

It helps man.

I am very proud of you for trying so hard to stop smoking. :=D:

There are 2 parts to stopping.

1. Is the habit of lighting, holding and puffing on a ciggy.
2. Is the addiction to the nicotine.

If you are wearing a patch then the patch is supplying your nicotine addiction needs and you are reducing the habit only, not the addiction.

You will soon need to also not wear a patch. That is when the craving starts in ernest.

Be aware that the craving for the drug never ends, it only reduces over time. You will continue to have a craving for the drug on the odd occasion, you have to have the strength to say NO. You will be even more proud of yourself as you become stronger and have the willpower to reject the drug every time your brain tells you that it wants another dose of nicotine.

I have managed to stop (for 7 years now (!) (!) ) after 30 years of smoking. To do it i used a drug called Zyban for 6 weeks. It was the most difficult thing i have ever done in my whole life. ..|

Best wishes my friend. I hope you succeed.
