I find race play disgusting.

Does it mean it's always wrong? no. if two people who are consenting adults do it, who are in a relationship for instance, then I don't see the issue. I won't advocate it being outlawed. But i think in a lot of cases it does denote people's darker intents or thoughts.

It's not acceptable, IMHO, to message random "people of colour" on a dating site and ask them if they're up for race play. It's wrong to say that everybody who does it is a bigot, but then most likely many are.

You would have to be more specific about what you define as "race play". Since most of the members of the forum are American, the term "race play" may have a different meaning.

Honestly, I haven't seen race play, which to an American has a black-white context and is more of a fringe feature of the BDSM community. Because the BDSM community focuses heavily on consent, generally any role play is considered okay, as long as all parties have given consent.

I can't speak to current day but when I was in areas with a leather community, race was not a common feature of the master-slave dynamic. Outside of the BDSM community, there is more fetishism of race, particular with the BBC tropes and fantasies.

Race play is predominantly an American term.
One can still acknowledge consent and then find something distasteful.
Don't be some sensitive and PC Californian, getting "offended" at another's opinion. If your neighbour hates gay sex, that shouldn't literally (and cannot literally) stop you from fucking another dude. Isn't it "American" to tolerate opinions, even those one finds abhorrent?

It's just my opinon. If people want to race play, so what? it's a free world. But then i find it disgusting and problematic all the same.
