Race Riots in America 2016

I wouldn't say i was celebrating them just saying it's about time police officers got the message that black people weren't gonna take it lying down anymore.

Over five hundred people have been killed by police this year and nothing seems to be happening to stop it, warm words and sympathy from Obama isn't cutting it anymore, perhaps if police knew there'd be some comeback for their actions there'd be more of an impetus for police departments to actually tackle this subject.

I think feelings here are pretty raw. Black people shouldn't be shot by the cops all the time. Assassination in return is not progress.

Probably not, but perhaps this is some people's last resort after years of trying everything else.

well,
according to NRA, the more guns the better.
Now everyone there can be a potential shoot out with any other .... let the fun begins.
But i hope this fun is not true.

Shocking. This backlash is probably going to escalate, as an oppressed minority might do.

The police need to get their act together and reign in on the cops who are giving them a bad name.

If the police being shot are not like those who stop and murder, then that's also a incredible shame and loss to the community in which they serve. Snipers aiming at just white policemen only are just as bad as white policemen who target blacks.

No, it's about time black people stood up to the police, that's of course if that's what's going on here, early doors.

ummm i've seen the video about the police shot the black guy in the car.
The police was scared that the black guy might pull up the gun. Not the police fault to be jumpy.
This is why guns should be banned !!!

It is not surprising.

Yet the point remains that sniper attacks are by no means race riots. Just using the phrase "race riot" to describe what is clearly singular vigilante action is inflammatory and racist in and of itself.

To the point of cheering it on, it doesn't really work that way, now does it? If Black Americans were to form lynch mobs, or even assassination cells, and mete out raw justice, then that might send some sort of signal that the limits of tolerance had been reached as a people. But instead, we have cops murdered who may not have had any particular racism in their records, who may have actually been the advocates for change, who may have been leaders for the good.

What these assassinations do is serve to fan the flames of escalation and could easily precipitate a race war. It would quickly make the Irish/English deaths pale due to the sheer numbers involved. It could essentially spiral upward with tit for tat retaliations. In the past century when true riots erupted and when various anarchists led militants to oppose white power by force, it did not take long for the leaders of minorities to see the destructive nature of a full-force confrontation with the entrenched power of the majority.

Instead, leaders corrected the violent movements and channeled the focus into legal remedies and the slow but steady path of growing the real civil rights in law.

The assassinations are truly few compared to the large number of police-caused deaths and the much larger number of criminal murders ever year, but the assassinations have much greater potential to trigger a racist backlash that will only escalate. As Black Lives Matter have correctly stated, all deaths are not equal, and this horror will only prove that in the worst possible way.

No, that is the cause of the problem. Blacks do not seem to realize that they are not entitled to resist the police. They resist, someone notices the gun and shots are fire. The two recent shootings both involved black men with guns who convinced the police that they were in danger. We cannot know exactly the timing and what the parties saw, and heard, so it is hard to judge whether they were justified. But in both instances the cops were intending to defend themselves. They knew the suspect had a gun and thought he was going for it.
The problem escalates as the snipers convince the cops to watch out and the shootings convince the black men to carry and use guns.

The bigger question is whether the mass shootings of police officers is considered domestic terrorism.

Or just business as usual.

It could also be Islamic terrorism, intended to stir race problems.

It's premature to draw conclusions before the appropriate investigative bodies have completed their investigations and reported their findings to the competent authorities.

Prejudicial observations do not serve the common good.

If you get tackled or if pain is inflicted it is NATURAL and REFLEXIVE to resist. When a person is pushed to the ground the human body is geared to break the fall by extending it's arms and hands.
One is programed by nature to protect his/her face when the ground is coming towards it.

That is not resisting, but I have watched a number of videos where one responds with a reflexive motion to several officers throwing them to the ground or punching them in the face and the cops yell "quit resisting" and escalate their assault.

These are not cases where an officer tells you to put your hands behind your back.

As with most occupations these days I fear the bar has been lowered, training has been cut to save money and people of all walks of life seem more prone to be assholes, one with a gun is just more dangerous.

I don't know how the NRA defend selling sniper guns as well.

The reason police kill so many blacks because they are afraid they might get shot.
Shoot first because they might have guns, and ask later. You can tell by that video.

Remember that a full third of black men in America spend time in the penitentiary, and that problem is getting worse with each generation, not better.

Remember that your blatant racism doesn't do any good either. So save your shit for your klan rallies.
