Rachel Ray: Can We Really Handle Another Show?

Yeah, Lady O is the force behind Rachel's daytime show. Let's just hope if Rachel's show become very popular she doesn't spite Oprah like Phil McGraw. You guys see how fast Dr. Phil's spotlight is starting to dim.
 
Tierra, how did Dr. Fake diss Oprah? I can't stand his approach! He is insensitive & crass! The idea of him putting out a dieting book is a joke! The fat hick needs help his damn self!
 
this is something about her that I just can't stand. It's like she wants you to believe she's the girl next door. Sorry but we have enough of those!
 
I like her, but didn't really care for that show she had where she hung out with the celebrities. Just have to tune in and see how this one goes.
 
Oprah will be on her show on Tuesday. Her first guest will be Diane Sawyer when the show premiers on Monday.

Personally, I figured she'd be better suited to have a talk show similar to Rosie O'Donnell's or even Ellen's, but from what I've read, her show is going to be more along the lines of Martha Stewart's new show, with "lifestyle" topics and stuff like that. I guess the Food Network really does want her to replace Martha.

Something went down last year between the 2 of them. Everybody was talking about the high tension, but I can't remember exactly at this moment . I do know that he didn't invite to his post-Emmy winning party or some other celebration and she was pissed the fuck off by this justure. They are basically on a no talking basis with one another.
 
There's a surefire way to get me to immediately turn the channel and that's for Rachael Ray, Giada DiLaurentis, or Emeril Lagasse to come on.

You boys are saying everything I've been thinking. I know there are some places and somethings that she eats that is just plain disgusting or nasty. However, I still love her bubbly personality.
 
Hit the nail on the head. Like I said, her and Giada DiLaurentis like food too much and aren't slightly overweight. Somethings wrong with that.

just saw her new show......not sure I'd want to watch her everyday, but I thought it was cool the the audience seats are on a platform that turns as RR goes to the kitchen set, couch set etc so they always have a straight on look
 
I just watched it, too. Maybe it'll take some time for the show to get into a groove and start flowing with itself, but the first episode seemed kind of amature to me. I also found the format for the show to be a little like a kindergarten class, with Rachael talking to her audience like they're children.

Like I said, though, I'll hold of final judgement for a while until the show has some time to age.

And the sad thing is that she starts swooning over the food before she even fully gets it in her mouth. Perky is great, happy is wonderful, but when it becomes over the top, people just don't believe it anymore and she becomes nothing more than an infomercial for whatever restaurant she's visiting.

I see here as nothing more than a creation of other people in the "food media". I mean she certainly does not have a reputation for being overly bright. She has a history of being a dead beat and running out on her bills from several years ago. I am quite sure that Giada runs off the set between commercials to ram her finger down her throat so she can purge every bite she may have taken in the preceeding shot. Frankly, I don't trust someone who claims to be a great cook who has a 24" waste. I am amazed at times that her tiny body can even hold up that garguantuan head of hers. And she is the only person on earth with 158 teeth.

One of my associates at work has a brother who is a floor director at the food network. He told me that the brother said on some of these shows where they have a segment with the host cooking for all his or her friends, apparently many times these "friends" are nothing but Food TV employees playing the part. I have always thought that about Giada and especially Michael Chiarello.
