Racism in the Elavator

Little known fact is that women alone will step to the side and clutch their purse more tightly when ANY man gets on to an elevator with them, black on not.

This is the truth of the matter. If it had been a non-black crackhead walking into that elevator, you'd have the same response.

The guy had a chip on his shoulder already.

And yes, calling a woman or man a bitch is sexist.

There ARE other meanings to the word bitch. It's not fair to pick and choose, unless of course think it's sexist for one woman to call another woman a bitch, even if she's acting like one.

Look, we grew up in different cultures, countries...blah blah blah. Bitch still retains its original meaning here. I don't see the word as a form of affection, a quirky way to display your humor or whatever other meanings it has. Bitch means bitch, to me at least. Just because you say it America like that, doesn't mean the rest of the world will blindly follow.

But sometimes you lose sight of reality when you're up there.

Not really. Everyone clearly knows what's right and wrong; we just don't practice what we preach. You don't lose sight of reality -- it just makes you laugh at your own reality.

Bitch isn't just a term meant to condescend women and you know that.

Sigh. I know that; but the word bitch here was used deplorably. What I'm saying is that I just disagree with discriminating another person because he/she is racist -- I feel like I am no different from that person if I do that. To me, me at least, the word bitch is sexist; a discriminative condescending word. We deal with racism differently.

I think (hope) the OP was just tryna be funny, Ram and I ruined all the fun. It's her fault though, she won't let anybody say "bitch!

I am not here to police you in any way. I just voiced my opinions and you disagree; and I disagree with you. If you think it's okay to call another woman a bitch if she's mean/racist/whatever to you, go ahead. But I won't; and I don't think it's right -- and I'm not going to shove my version of the bitch down your throat. You have your reasons and I have mine.

When I started lurking and you started posting, I knew immediately that one day we will clash.

So he goes into an elevator and narrates his thoughts to the camera. He calls the woman behind and to the side of him a "stupid bitch" and in closing calls her a "dumb bitch".

She's a woman. Why couldn't he have called her that, 'a woman' without the condescending and derogatory adjectives?

You don't know, that's the frustrating part. Sometimes it's because you're black, sometimes it's just because your male. I guess I can't really expect you to understand it though, meh.

Of course I have no way to understand why people have a unreasoned reaction to a certain group of people---

The irony of it all is rather funny though. He was a victim of racism yet it revealed his own discriminative side: being overly sexist. Again it's my own interpretation.

Argument flawed: nobody regards SNL as comedy anymore. Too painful to watch without Tina Fey.

We know it's meant to be funny but look at what some of the Jubbers posted -- look at what you posted. It's suddenly okay to call her a bitch.

It's quite worrying that you guys can't distinguish what should stay in comedy and how it should really be dealt with in reality.
