Sometimes when I read a post and all the response seem to fully cover the topic, so I don't bother to post. It may be a complement that people don't post after you. There are other times that I just read the post and respond without ever reading the other responses. I never look to see who posted last to determine if I am going to post.

Racism is a tough subject. Sometimes racism does play a part in life's events, but other times it has nothing to do with it. Some people go through life looking for racism in everything. I feel truly sorry for those people as they tend to go through life with a very negative outlook and that outlook holds them back. They also use racism as a crutch and that prevents them from dealing with the real issues that are keeping them from advancing. If you were being singled out by the thousands of members on JUB, which I don't think you are, you should look more to the content of your posts than the color of you skin for a reason.

Hey, Meheartdicks--I certainly notice your posts and I'm glad you're around.

I can't remember responding in the form of a post. Maybe once or twice. Not much more than that.

If I responded more often in the future it would probably simply be a case of your getting more interesting and if you want to be more and more of that---well it's a good thing to improve on and YOU will most enjoy the improvement.

Some of that sort of improvement comes from a facility with words; cleverness with the language you use. Again, that often takes practice.

Another thing to consider is what Marketing calls "differentiation." Making yourself stand out. How does one stand out besides being "clever" or "wise/knowledgable"? Here's a somewhat mysterious answer: You have to connect with YOUR reality and project that. Think about that. (But not in an anxious way.)

Maybe someone else can explain it better.

One point: Anxiety on these matters is your worst enemy. Learn to listen to what you are anxious about in a way that HELPS you---not in a way that makes you more anxious.

I'm more than happy, however, to devote attention to you just because of who you are right now. So post away, guy!

the consistent characteristic of your posts i've read is a ....slight....desperation .... to fit in.....to feel like an equal......when you actually feel so many ways in which you're not......equal.....or fitting in

we should all realize that even though we're not each online exactly who we may be in real life.....

an online community becomes "real" because it still is the sum of its contributing personalities.....but no one of us is actually "real"

I reply to posts based on its content and whether I have something useful to contribute or whether I'm turned on by reading a post.

From time to time, there is only so much to be said on a particular topic then we all move on.

Also I only look at JUB if I have the time to do so. I only look at it on weekends mostly. During the week, I'm occupied with work, study and sport.

The only time I care about the skin colour of a guy is when I imagine myself fooling around with them. That's when I have preferences for specific races.

for the longest time it seemed like when i posted in a thread no one else did after that. it's called thread killing. after a while i realized it wasn't me. it was just the large number of threads here that some percentage of them end every day. someone has to the be last person to post in them and eventually it's going to be you. or me.. or who ever.

i've meet seth and his boyfriend. so i know he's telling you the truth when he says he's white and his boyfriend is black. so i absolutely do not believe it has anything to do with race. he's just super busy and gets i would guess hundreds of PMs per day. he's bound to miss getting back to some of them. don't take it too bad. i'm sure he'll try to get back to you now.

threads die for many reasons. Many many reasons. One of those many reasons is that the thread topic gets hijacked or turned into something that is no longer interesting. When someone looks at this thread title they see that it is about "racism on jub" which suggests maybe a larger conversation about how we deal with being such a diverse international group here.

Imagine the dissappointment that one might have when he or she starts reading the thread and it looks not like an interesting conversation, but rather a personal spat between a few members (you & rareboy).

It's your thread. You can shift the conversation in anyway you like that is still in keeping with the CoC but if you wonder about a lack of replies, the above is one possible clue (I'm definitely not saying it is the only one).

I see your point. My threads are usually hijacked by rareboy and I end up not getting responses that I want. Can you mods please do something with rareboy, he has done nothing but nuisance to me since i don't know when.

I suggest:

(1) Put him on your ignore list or exercise restraint and do not reply to him.

(2) Report posts you feel that are off topic or otherwise problematic - It's amazing how few guys actually use the report post icon, and it is a great tool, because those posts really do get our attention.

(3) Hijaking is like a dance - it takes two to tango.

Just try and post a bit more about your life- something strange you observed or something funny you encountered. Try to post something controversial but in a good way and not because you're getting into catfight with another member. I understand completely on how you're feeling but just remember that this is only an internet forum and it ain't the real world. Keep posting.

In my opinion I think this thread has been very interesting not because it addresses such a controversial issue like racism but also I think you will agree that your insecurities have been revealed here- it's better to address them now rather than later. I hope you can gain some insight as to how they came about and that you feel better in the long run. Keep posting!
