Of late I have been binging on watching porn--ALL types of it. I am just wallowing in watching it LOL. Over years I have gone through phases where I have been hopelessly addicted to it, and other times where I have preached that it is ALL exploitative.

My latest phase is seeing some of it as being very liberating, and wishing that I had had access to it when I was growing up, and even in my 20s--because here in UK it was one of the most uptight countries in Europe regarding porn, and ESPECIALLY Gay porn, and I remember when it was JUST MAGS and they genitals of the male models had a BIG WHITE CIRCLE over them, and no erections were allowed.

But now I find like said much of it very liberating for the young.

BUT what I keep coming up against and it has made me make this thread is the RACISM against black people in gay porn (not sure in straight)--For example if you see any black people, whether it be amateur or say black orgies you hear them called "THUGS". WHY is that? Just because they are black they are thugs??

I find this so fukin outrageous and would really wanna tell the people who spread this propaganda. Alright I can dig that SOME amateur especially likes to do the 'str8 thug theme' of streetboys 'doin it for the money cos they broke'--and that has a certain hot factor, but it is ALWAYS with black people---is very rare you just see black particpants just being what they are--gay males having sex like white males

On a side/unrelated note....anyone notice how they are virtually no Black bi movies? A friend of mine said it's because bisexual Black men aren't as sexually liberated as bisexual White men, and therefore don't feel comfortable mixing gay with straight.

WOW really? I hadn't noticed until you mention it, but remember the few bi sex orgies i HAVE seen II must admit I haven't seen many if ANY black participants! But what does it mean 'bisexual men aren't as liberated as bisexual white men'--i would have thought that being bisexual itself is quite liberated---or do you mean performing in front of camera?

I agree with the OP on how badly porn paints a picture of society. I can't think of any porns in which I have seen the roles reversed- wealthy black man has sex with white thug... never happens. Or if it does, it's very infrequent.

Somebody posted the same about Latinos in another thread. Latinos are always thugged out too.

Porn is pretty racist when you consider the socio-economic roles it gives it's characters.

I guess it's how you look at it. Yes, I would agree that in a larger societal context, referring to Black males (or minorities) as "thugs" would be racist. However, for me and in reference to porn I don't really see it as being so. When I picture a thug in porn, I think more of a manly man, whether he is Black, Latino, or whatever. Someone who's tough and doesn't take any crap, and would fuck you as soon as beat you. I dunno, maybe that is racist too, but whenever I see porn with thugs, it's always a turn on for me.

I mean if there's really something being misrepresented in gay porn I would have to think it would be all the gay for pay actors out there. Don't get me wrong because I would say that's my favorite kind of porn but when you really get down to it, I think it's really fucked up the way I'm attracted to the kind of guys that I like, but that's a whole other story...

Falsely portraying all blacks and latinos as thugs in television and film exists as well. This is true. But there is a wider array of portrayals in these other outlets. Black men are sophisticated doctors, respected policemen, lawyers and buisnessmen.

I've watched thre Christmas movies with my family last week, all three featured latina housemaids...

I think it's still offensive in porn. What about the black and latino viewers who are not 'thugged out' and want to see members of their ethnicity in more relatable roles? What about effeminate ethnic men who want to see effeminate ethnic men in porn?

That's not true. I've seen bisexual porns where there are black men in them.

I have gay and bisexual black male friends and they get annoyed at how porn portrays bisexual and gay black men as being "thugs" or hung like horses or at least with bigger than average penises. My bisexual and gay male black friends also get REALLY annoyed at the non black men they've met who just want them for their black penis or because of the stereotype that "If you're black you have a big black dick!".

I know white queer men who have told me how they like black bisexual and gay men but how these black men have to look, dress, and act like "thugs" or like they came out of a rap music video and they must be Tops and masculine or else these white men are not interested in them at all.
