By the way guys, these people don't like you either. Just cause they're not saying "queer" doesn't mean they are tolerant towards homosexuals.

lmao, such as?

All I heard was "fuck you", "you should just leave" and something about O'reilly not being on their side, lol.

Like illegals came here without being invited; like they're all criminals, not just the ones doing drugs, etc.; like he was born in this country, so "go back to Europe" is silly.

I'm going to take the bait and ask, "who invited los conquistadores?"

This is such a touchy subject, because where as I do lean slightly Left in my views, Immigration is one of those issues I still lean to the right on. Although, it is an absolute joke to think that the GOP is against Illegal Immigration, either. That's evidenced by Bush doing diddly squat about it, when he had control of the White House, Republican Senate and Republican House.

I do agree that instead of coming to America, Mexico has got to get its shit together and fix their own damn problems, or this is going to continue to spiral out of control. It already is out of control, to be frank, and has been for some time now.

Where as I understand that there was a starting point in which most of our ancestors came over from Europe ... there comes a point in time when the line has to be drawn.

It is already estimated that we have as many as 12-20 million illegal immigrants already living in the country, essentially receiving free healthcare at Taxpayer expense, while taking jobs away from the American people.

It's not that I am racist. I wouldn't care if they happen to be Hispanic, French, African, German, Arab, etc. I simply want to see this country take drastic steps to get this problem under control. I just don't see it happening, and things are only going to get worse.

Yeah, there are a whole lot of illegal immigrants who aren't Mexican.

Illegal Immigrants pay taxes.

Americans are hiring them, they wouldn't be here if there wasn't a demand for their cheap labor. Capitalism at work. Isn't it lovely.

Red Herring. You want to stop illegal immigration, 1. Put the employers in jail. 2. support a rational policy allowing them to work legally. If there were a whole lot of Americans who were willing to work for pennies in the strawberry fields they wouldn't be here.

It's stupid to assume that they'd be here without American collusion, and it's stupid to assume that they came here and created the demand for their labor. It's the free market baby.

What free healthcare are they receiving?

Bush didn't have control; that only comes when you have (a) a party with discipline and (b) a veto-proof majority.

Where as I understand that there was a starting point in which most of our ancestors came over from Europe ... there comes a point in time when the line has to be drawn.

Some of my ancestors met other of my ancestors, some stumbled on others out in the Great Plains, some were here in the west when the covered wagons showed up.

And while I taunt people who pride themselves on being "Native American" when their first ancestors on the continent arrived after WW I, if they've had three generations of forebears here, telling them to "go back to Europe" is asinine.

I'd be tempted to ask when the guy was going to volunteer for the Border Patrol....

That one burns me.

Twenty years ago, school buses picked up kids in small towns and hauled them to fields to pick berries. The pay wasn't great, but many of those kids bought their bicycles, baseballs, swimsuits, even school supplies with that money -- and it also taught them about holding a job.
Now the kids of those kids wander the streets, spray graffiti on walls, engage in petty vandalism and shoplifting....

Minimum wage laws were one nail in that coffin, and illegal immigrants were the other one, putting to death the head start those kids were getting on life.

If you want to stop illegal immigration you either have to eliminate the demand, or eliminate the reason they can't find work at home.

Personally I think they should be legalized through a guest worker program that allows them to work legally.

Or put a wall on the border, with watchtowers and spotlights, patrolled with dogs and a full armored division.

Won't work. They'll still find a way in. Plus it's a huge expense we don't have to pay - how much would that cost? To build it and man it, in perpetuity? If we had a rational guest worker policy in place - cheaper by billions and billions, and everybody wins.

Personally, I don't mind them working here. I don't even mind them becoming American citizens. I don't see why there is this priority placed on keeping them out - to the extreme of trying to build walls thousands of miles long and manning them, didn't work for the Chinese, didn't work for Hadrian, you think that's going to work now?

Living on a border state, I have to agree wholeheartedly. Being of European ancestry, I'm totally not in the right to talk about illegal immigration.

In saying that, no politician will do Jack Shit because of being perceived as a racist and because of the growing Hispanic demographic.

When you couple that with these racists doing crap like in the You Tube video, what politician would want to side with them? I sure as hell wouldn't.

This really isn't a right or left political issue.

Living in a border state myself, I have to ask, do you have a problem with allowing them to work here legally and if so why?

The reason politicians do nothing is because the people who pay campaign contributions are hiring these people.

Altho I can claim to be Native American I must say some of my ancestors came from Canada.

Not legally at all. Americans, even consider themselves too good for certain jobs. They'd rather remain unemployed than do something "below" them.

I bet you there are jobs you and I wouldn't do that a Mexican would want to do. Maybe it's us being spoiled. Who knows, but things need to get done and Mexicans are doing it.
