Radiohead

This new album isn't really doing anything for me. 'In Rainbows' however is a pretty good album, especially the tracks 'Reckoner' and 'All I Need' stand out.

Yep, same here. I don't mind the shortage of tracks but TKOL feels unfinished. Thom sounds great, though, esp. on "Morning Mr. Magpie".

I think this is leagues better than In Rainbows, certainly more interesting, fun even. I got bored with that album very quickly. Sure, more than eight songs would be nice, but it is what it is. Seems such a silly complaint. Seriously, nobody every criticizes albums for not having enough songs, yet every single review for this album complains about its length. Would you rather there be filler, something In Rainbows and Hail to the Thief both certainly had their fair share of.
This is the most adventurous Radiohead have been in years.

No qualms that there are only 8 tracks but as I said before it just seemed incomplete. It doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy it (I was mesmerized at times and even ran to "Feral" on Wed morning).

More Radiohead Coming This Month?

Could Radiohead surprise us with another album, or expand upon The King of Limbs, sooner than we think? More than a few people have been speculating over the past week about this, and the folks over at thekingoflimbspart2.com have assembled quite an extensive list of theories and clues as to why they think it might be happening. Think of it like Doc Jensen's EW recaps of LOST, but with Radiohead.

Listeners have been speculating over clues ranging from curious tweets from shadowy figures (assumed to be connected to the band,) to hidden coding in the MP3s they sent people who ordered the album. It's quite the read, but well worth the time. Take two Advil and head over!

It looks like Radiohead aren't done promoting their latest release, The King of Limbs, just yet.

Next month, Radiohead plan to kick off a series of limited edition 12" releases holding remixes of the King of Limbs tunes.

First up will be their tune, "Little by Little" remixed by Caribou and their song, "Lotus Flower," remixed by Jacques Greene. The 12" albums will be released via XL and Ticker Tape, available through various record shops and Radiohead's Website.

Their first round of remixes will be available July 5th.

Radiohead - Staircase (live From the Basement)

Here's a new track called Staircase, taken from our upcoming 'From The Basement' session.

And no, you're not seeing double. The doppelganger drummers are myself and Clive Deamer. Clive has long been one of my favourite drummers and so I was really excited when he agreed to perform with us. Hope you like what we've all done.

Radiohead At Ease reports that the third installment of Radiohead's series of limited edition 12" releases featuring remixes of tracks from their latest album The King of Limbs will be out "in two weeks," with Boomkat already taking pre-orders. It features a remix of "Separator" from Four Tet, as well as a Lone remix of "Feral" and a Pearson Sound remix of "Morning Mr. Magpie".

Next up from Radiohead's Tickertape label: two highly accomplished Nathan Fake and Mark Pritchard reworks of tracks from 'The King Of Limbs'. A-side we catch Nathan Fake on a swinging revision of 'Morning Mr Magpie', transposing vocal elements of the original into a feathered 2-step framework buoyed by rich subbass amidst a slow swirling cloud of tingling, slightly dissonant harmonics. B-side you're in for a treat with not one, but two Mark Pritchard remixes of 'Bloom'. Working as Harmonic 313, we're privy to a staggering mesh of fluid slowfast rhythms fluctuating somewhere between Juke and Dubstep, while epic synth washes arc overhead and Thom is turned into a chorus of alien cadence. It's honestly jaw-dropping stuff, and almost a million miles from the urgent version under his own name, taking the same track in the opposite direction down a one-way tunnel of Industrial Krautrock electronics closer to Factory Floor or Chris Carter.

I love this tune. I don't think many people appreciate this era of Radiohead, unfortunately. I'm sure they knew it wouldn't be as accessible as In Rainbows. It isn't as though Can was ever platinum-selling either. I'm glad they've been expanding on influences they've hinted at before.
At first I wasn't sold on the Basement version of Bloom, but it's managed to hook me in. Something about these sessions seem a bit sloppy and unrefined, maybe off-the-cuff. It works though, especially with some of these krautrock inspired jams, lighthearted and near-void of aggression. It's a great approach for them, and I can't wait for the tour (*crosses fingers).
Not fond of the remixes though.

I'm listening to "True Love Waits" for the past week or so. I wonder why there wasn't a studio version of it as it's such a lovely song.
